Honestly? I like it. It's different. You're going to have your haters, but to each his own. At the end of the day Big Sarge, it's your truck. Unfortunately too many folks think because they like their coffee or steak a certain way, then YOU have to do it because they like it. That bed is amazing, the truck sounds outstanding and it is inspiring me to work hard to be able to get my first diesel at the age of 52. Love your work bro.
Blue, fine painted pinstripes would look so classy. Love your channel. Love A and D paint such good work. In the words of Clark Griswold's father, It's a beaut Clark.
Josh made it to Florida from socal with my Duramax what a beast it towed a fully loaded toy hauler across America with no issues with the truck had a blowout east of El Paso but that's not the truck I'm so impressed with this lmm and Alison transmission it's incredible!!! I can't wait to see this new project you got going on finished I'm learning so much from you brother on your videos keep making them they're the best on you tube by far !! Another one hundred percenter from Truckmaster great job and great video !!!!!!
Love the videos on this truck. I’m into restoring 67-72 Chevy trucks. So this stuff is very interesting to me. This shop you got your truck at getting painted seems awesome. Great work and a great bunch of guys. Truck is looking awesome. That bed is killer. First truck I ever restored was a 1970 Chevy c10 and I had it painted orange. And boy did that truck ever get attention.
Really coming right along. Good to see the guys at the paint shop getting into as well. In the beginning a simple blue vinyl pinstripe (like the factory) . Would have looked great. However, now that you have taken it to a new (fantastic) level. A pinstripe would be great. But it would have to be an actual real (painted) hand laid job. Still kept subtle, maybe a bow tie worked into it. But no crazy scroll work. OR.... since you haven't painted the cab... not a a race stripe...but think of a 69 Chevell and a dual strip on the hood and over the roof and down the tailgate. Then you put the factory Duramax emblems on each side of the hood. That would be one of a kind. 😎👍
I have a quadrasteer and a LBZ. I am thankful for this video because I honestly didn’t know how well the paint would take to the high impact plastic they used for the hips back then. Going from black on my quadrasteer to silver birch on my lbz will still probably be less than ideal
Josh, i gotta say, i was really skeptical at first. But i think once the sunlight hits this color, it's really going to pop 🍊🌞 but i do think the orange wheels are overkill, but awesome job so far 👍
After I graduated high-school in 2000 my buddy took a 98 Ford Explorer, put huge sound system in it and TVs, then 22" chrome wheels on the smallest tires I ever seen! Then he painted it this almost exact color with the ghosted flames down the side! It was rad, we would drive around and girls would think he was a famous person 😂... good ol day's. Now a days I can barely hear myself talk 🤣
Everyone has an opinion, frankly its your build, your money, and the content is enjoyable above all else brotha. look forward to each new video! No matter the color; from what that truck was, compared to now… is crazy!!! Good stuff!!!
We do the rockers the same way. But we use a lot of weld thru primers on the insides of the rockers once we are done with the repair and it’s painted then we go back and cavity wax the crap out of the rockers 😂. All the repairs we have done with putting all new panels in we have never had the trucks come back and we have been doing that for 12 years…
Like I told you earlier in a different video, I have an 04 Chevy Z 71 and I put a lot of work into my cab and your truck compared to what I done is night and day that color it’s so awesome. It’s actually better than that. I’ve been watching every episode on this truck like I said you are not right out of the park. Can’t wait to see it finished.
If it was my truck I would say a blue strip would set it off. Make the traction bars and piping really pop. I’m also curious if smoked lighting would look good vs the factory style red and amber. Gonna be a great lookin pickup either way though
Loving the progress trucks coming out sick the SunkistMax lol Do you plan on smoking the lights like a dark tint and putting LED bulbs i think the smoked out look will look really good with the bright orange
Looks nice!! It’s different but tht is what makes it cool!!! I think u shud just leave it orange and the blue track bars and maybe blue lug nuts or something blue in the wheels but it looks really good !!!
Hey, instead of color matching the whole door and tailgate handles, u should color match the bezel around the handle and get chrome handles. I did that on my duramax and it looks sweet
Josh: Looks great and when it is all said and done, can we get a cost breakdown on something like this or even a complete color change? They are doing a fantastic job and true pros.
this is what I keep saying just cause it was from the south doesn't meant it won't rust. Rust happens everywhere unless you live in the desert everything can rust anywhere. It all depends on how well you take care of your truck or car you can make it last forever even in the rust belt you can keep a truck from rusting.
When are we going to find out the results from trying to run RADIATOR COOLANT in the intercooler. Or whatever the hack trick thing was. Reducing temps and what not. I’ve been stuck waiting to see the out come but no videos on it yet
Its coming along nicely. I'm guessing you're over 30k cost for a normal customer to do that much work right now. Maybe more. I had a hotrod shop quote me for painting my Avalanche and they wouldn't even look at it for less than 40k and wouldn't let it out of their shop unless all the visible parts were new. My rockers are in better shape too.
I have three gallons of tangerine orange from a Lamborghini in my garage with no home, I trying to decide what's going to be orange, its a transparent paint so the base will make a huge difference in what it looks like
I believe it would look best with some blue trim lines. When I see a vehicle all one color, I think...boring. Also, you could sell it to the Denver Broncos when your all done, they like to throw away lots of money.
Trust me there is. A strainer in the liner, but yes that color was super chunky and I did have to comeback and run it through a dozen strainers to finish up
I was voice typing lol basically what I'm saying is that's the cleanest rocker panel your gonna find used on planet earth bro lmao that's insane that u would actually complain about that especially being that your from the north.....it's like some minor surface rust that's what a used 2023 rocker would look like 😂
