Thanks for the video. I have many old tools that I've never had the heart to throw away. They will get the same attention that your old shovel deserved. Good job and thank you for inspiring me.
LOVE IT!!! Your use of the Chinese Privet is very cool, exciting to see such a cool use from a common plant. How has it held up under use? How does it compare with a store bought thus far?
Thank you so much for this kind comment Madison! Since making this video I have put this shovel through some absolutely brutal torture tests which I truly wish I had videoed for a follow up but I had no idea how successful this video would be! I’ve had it everywhere from digging sand fleas for bait on the beaches of the Gulf coast to chewing through gravel, packed clay digging ditches. I have pried on the end of that handle with every ounce of leverage imaginable, and she hasn’t shown the slightest sign of giving way. I have come to the conclusion that the shovel will be a family heirloom. Thank you so much for watching and if you liked this, I think you will truly enjoy my 2 part video titled “Making a Buck Vanguard Inspired Golf Club Knife”. -Stagger
I'm sure this will inspire a host of people to try restoring old but quality tools even if we don't all have your resources. Ill be looking at a couple of my shovels later and trying some of your ideas.
