Dk oldies needs this for their “refurbished” consoles

Really dirty but it seems the battery going bad was the true culprit. This is my favorite look of the PS3, one I still have and I’m probably going to have to do this fix down the line.

Is ok to wash the plastic parts, That's how i clean mine, Every years or so often, Just let them dry before reassembling.

I love seeing restorations of consoles, I actually got a refurbished ps3 super slim a few months ago and it work amazingly I love it, it is now one of my favorite consoles

I so wish someone could fix up my old ps3 as well. The console just turns itself off seconds after turning on. I really miss playing all my old games.

The ps3 isn‘t that slow with an hdd but with an ssd that iv‘e installed it‘s like crazy fast at least my ps3 is

I'm planning to do a complete disassemble, clean and paste/battery replace on my 15 y old PS3 slim, it still works well but i want to do that in order to check the status and prevent future issues. This video will helps alot, thank you very much.

Compressed Air it's your best friens when it comes to disassembly, just please use a facemask and do the cleaning on a open/vented area, as those little dust particles can easily get to your nose which can be dangerous and very annoying at best (they tickle). Believe it or not i've done many deep cleaning on those just with little brushes and toilet paper with alcohol. Yesterday i've got my ps3 slim CECH21XX with a YLOD, i was able to get it running for a little while enough to get the syscon error log and figure out what was the issue... Short story there was something (rather it was dust or extra thermal paste idk prolly both) obstructing the south-bridge circuit where's the RSX located. I was able to fix it assembling back with more preasure and deep cleaning that part of the motherboard, my syscon error was 3034 and 4402, now it runs fine and doesn't shut off nor struggles to boot on :)

I am unable to lift the motherboard as if it is stuck to the metal chassis and I am sure there are no screws left

I tried fixing my psp street by myself...it got repaired but in turn i got my bran new screwdriver tips stripped and now ibcant unscrew stuff...any solutions to reduce stripping of screwdriver tip??

My playstation3 plays but slow loading and really clunky sounding. Can I clean and lube the rails that the laser assembly rides on?

My ps3 seems to work just fine except the fact when I put a disc in the ps3 doesn’t recognize and pull it in. I can manually push it all the way in but it doesn’t read the disc. Any thoughts?

@12 min What does that 2032 battery do for the ps3? Is it the lighting? Such as the "eject " button and "power button?" I really want to replace my battery on my 3 and give it a nice cleaning.... but don't want to tear it apart 😂😂😂 tooo scared 😱 💀😵
