I like the square lights, they suit the car. What about looking into having someone 3D print some new surrounds but make the dish deeper?

Think the twin lights look a lot better

As the car will be sold, I'd leave the headlight question to the new owner. The other option is to change the inserts, some Hella & Wipac (didn't know they still existed) lights have a less pronounced lenses.
