Bondo on rust,that's a formula for longevity right there.

My only critique is the choice of paint colors. Real "restorations" try and match the factory colors. They also don't paint parts that are not painted from the factory. Where I live in the states this would be a called a hillbilly deluxe restoration. And you wouldn't pay more than $150 for.

That was a good test at the end to cut a hay field, but I would have like to see it painted Makita colors.

I think it ran better before the rebuild! That thing is not running right. And that disaster of a blade...

That's why they changed it from rear wheel to front wheel drive because of the turning abilities. Also the engine is smaller and has a hard time to cut tall grass .

When you put in the engine back together I noticed you put the coil on with the word c y l faced up. I think that means you put it face down cylinder equals down

1st i wanna say i learned something new cause i thought makita was only in the tools department drills and such . 2nd shot out to classic briggs with the oil drain screw on the bottom . very refreshing to see. excellent work once again restoration t2 💥

I think the engine is runing to high (probably you have bocked the throttle. I have the same engine, and the head regulator governor is regulated by the wind and the two small springs, for the speed limit.

You forgot the key for the flywheel! You put in new rings without honing the cylinder walls. That quantum engine doesn't sound healthy at all!

New decals would have improved things, not to mention, why not repaint it the original colors? 42:10 - It runs lke crap. Did you gap the plug, etc. before putting it in?
