Oooooh! SHINY! You've left the rust and trash in one of the critical mechanisms on this brace: the ratcheting mechanism. Also the thrust bearing that the upper handle pushes against. I guess this is for the purely collector market or the naive newbie.

By the way, that is a brace drill, not a hand drill.

I like the restoration, just not a fan of painted wood, some boiled linseed oil would look great and be accurate for its time.

You cleaned up the outside and painted the wood the wrong color. That still shows a lot of wear and pitting! That's not the way it came from the factory! Therefore that is not a restoration! That is a partial repair or a renovation. When are you going to do the restoration? or was the title a LIE?
