Looking real nice Ken. We are almost at the exact same stage in the resto, take off the tank, and your bike could be mine😆 I found and bought a NOS rear brake line, was going to use the one that came in the braided brake line kit i bought, but the NOS one fits perfect and looks good. Also finally found two of those foam strips that stick on the top and bottom of the headlight to seal it against the fairing. Once i get the head back from the engineering shop, thats the engine finished and in it goes. 😃
Cool!! I've been pickin' nits on a bunch of small stuff, putting parts on checking for clearances and proper wire routing, etc. Noted the foam where the instruments touch the headlight assembly and came up with a home made solution for the outer strips around the headlight...you'll laugh when you see what I did. My guy who does my brake lines dropped the ball - I was expecting everything 3 weeks ago but I still haven't got them. I sent him all my OEM brake and clutch lines and he's supposed to reproduce them. Should be soon tho. My final paint should be done next time off from work - my booth is pretty much done (ventilation was last). The engine is just top end work - shouldn't be more than a month or two over winter and I'm pretty sure the bike will be on the road in the spring.
They look fantastic . I have the brakes off my FZR 1000 off and on my work desk. Ready and next to be disassembled. As always, thank you for the content
All you need now is a front sprocket and pedals and you can take it on a trail :) put 4 gallons of energy drink in the tank and a tube in the cap to drink it :) 😊 But in all honesty: beautiful work Ken. Also: am I the only one who also tunes in for the soundtrack? Always amazing!
Also forgot to mention just how well it rolls now. I was just pushing it around but I noticed a huge difference with the rolling resistance. So maybe pedals and some sprockets isn't such a bad idea!
