You picked a great watch. I bought my GA100-1a1 on GovX early in my career as a firefighter. When the battery died, I sent it out to Casio (east coast) and not only did they change the battery, but they also went through their standard checklist (gasket check, accuracy, etc.).
I’m convinced Casio is the best watch brand out there, not surprised they went above and beyond for a simple battery swap! I hope you doing well man and can continue wearing it in good health
Thank you for watching! I'm experimenting with mechanical movements now; it's a different beast hahah. It's, without a doubt, therapy for me as well. After spending the last few years in front of a screen, it's been so nice to have a physical hobby to tinker with and learn. Good luck with your builds!!
nice work! recently i decided to replace the band & bezel on my old g-shock watch. after 8 years of using it all the time. and parts that i chose was from other models. the result cool enough to try it.
Dude this is one of the nicest compliments I’ve ever gotten! I have actually been sitting on a couple videos that were already filmed but haven’t felt too motivated to finish them. May have to get back to those this week!
It’s a classic for sure!! Too bad this thing is massive for my wrist otherwise I’d wear it more often 😂 Idk how I wore it through MCT, 55lbs lighter than I am now.. it’s a miracle it didn’t slip off 😂😂
I have difficulty seeing the hour hand in low light conditions, thinking of disassembly to add some super luminova to the holes on the hour hand? Thanks for the video.
Nice watch i had the exact same model the backlight was nearly useless apart from that it was a decent bit of kit i did find the buttons quite tough to press which can be a good or bad thing, i ended up selling mine and got into the square gshocks
Do they make replacement crystals for old g shocks? I have an old favorite g shock I would like to renew. Was going to look for a new crystal but don’t know where to start looking
What's the model number of your g-shock? I could spend a couple mins trying to find the crystal. I haven't used it, but I've heard eBay is a pretty good resource for watch parts.
@@gman8877 you done a lovely job come to Cornwall and do my watch ,I was watching your video to see you change the glass ,do you think its easy enough to do ??
You done a good job ,come to Cornwall and do mine 😂I watched the video thinking you was gonna replace the glass was gonna watch and learn, do you think its easy enough to change ??
@@Cornishepilepsywarrior1984 why thank you sir! If you buy a crystal press it should be pretty easy to do yourself. Those prolly run about 20 bucks. I’m not sure which watch you have, but if it’s under 100 it might be less of a headache to just buy a new watch
Sounds like it needs a new battery. 1. Replace battery. 2. AC Reset. 3. Realign hands. Super simple to do, watch this video for a walk through: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Nugz9NiIAJU.htmlsi=MsJmH2oXYels7l97
@@yordaoneVal If it has water damage then changing the battery would not fix it. It would likely need a module replacement, or a professional to fix. The GA100 watches are rated for 200 meters of water resistance. Through regular use I’d be impressed if he was able to get water in there! How much sentimental value do you have to the watch? Batteries are under 5-10 bucks, as long as you have a small screw driver you can try changing it yourself for the chance it just needs a battery change. (Cheapest option) If the battery change doesn’t work, you don’t care about switching out the module and dial, and you have 50 bucks to kill- you can always buy a used working GA100 on EBay to swap out the module(which is attached to the dial and hands.) This wouldn’t be a hard swap for you to do yourself, just would need a screwdriver and rubber gloves. If that doesn’t work, and you want to keep the watch as original as possible - the most expensive option would be to take it to a professional watchmaker for them to assess. I’m not a professional watchmaker so I can only suggest for you to try so much. It really just depends on how much you’re willing to spend to keep it as original as possible.
@@gman8877 thats what im saying its 200m water resistance watch i think i should try changing battery first so i can be sure if its not water damage. Btw thanks for thee help :DD
@@gman8877 sorry. I took apart several G-Shocks and they all had rubber protectors on the sides and back. but watching comparison videos. It looks like it's original. I have a new ga-100 without disassembling. Greetings
@@jonathangarcia4560 ah thank you for explaining. This and my 5610u are the only gshocks I’ve disassembled so I’m not familiar with the part you describe
