Amazing how a completely trashed and neglected engine bay cleans up virtually like new!!

Tip - bilt hamber surfex HD in a foamer instead of the brake cleaner. Let it dwell and then agitate with brush.. I used it recently to clean up a bad oil leak and it was brilliant.

You can use something called “Amberclens” gets rid of the dirt and grime alot quickly. Alot of manufacturing companies use it, wont have to use the break cleaner then :)

For engine cleaner a good degeaser in a spray bottle is ideal. Let it dwell then wipe off.

autoglym engine and machine cleaner is your friend rather than brake cleaner. Also small items, trims and plastics (but not ali) put in the dishwasher on a cold cycle with no drying.

Now you have the workspace, when you doing a turbo build on one of your R36/r32? 👀

What a car this is, owned a R32 for about 5 years and wanted to get one of these but the wife couldn't justify it 😭

Hit the scuttle with some hammerite. Pretty sure you can get it in various colours. If you leave it, it WILL rust mate. Looking good! Great job.

I’m wondering if the engine bay wasn’t covered with that wax they spray also inside of some cavities to protect against rust. The reason why you used a solvent like brake cleaner I think maybe proves this. Not sure! Just an assumption.

Was hoping you are doing the chain now 😂 i am doing my R36 in 2 weeks could have give me a heads up in whats to come , i am doing everything chains guides , dual mass flywheel , oil pump and gear , oil pick up tube , pcv valve etc , i don't want to be there again 😂😂😂

An all purpose cleaner would be better than brake cleaner. Turned out great nonetheless

I would have used engine degreaser not brake cleaner on the painted areas. Some brake cleaners can ruin paint and even start lifting it.

Does anyone know if a dsg gearbox from the R36 can be programmed to work properly on an R32? I installed an R36 box on my R32, it runs and drives but my car is down on power. Not as quick vs R32 box. Enjoying your content as a fellow R32 owner. Looking forward to seeing how the Scirocco comes out.

Do you know if you have a little gas blow torch if you just lightly quickly blow it over the black plastics makes them look brand new again I seen this on RU-vid tried it on the pouter plastic on my father in laws Honda cry looked out of the factory worth a try matey. Great channel Thankyou

Bad choice for the timing chain kit mate.. If u havent installed yet, go and look for INA timing chain kit, its what OEM uses, febi is crap, don't ask me how i know.

hamza, replace that inline thermostat for gearbox going into cooler, it will have failed, makes car warm up slowly and gearbox, it will 100% be failed

Cleaning an engine bay is a must, non car people will say it is just a bay, but for me it is more than that

the flywheel/clutchpack is one of those "while you're in there" items that you'll wish you did down the road. Just my opinion! Cheers from Colorado, US mate.

Brake cleaner can strip the paint.. You'd have been better off just pressure washing the engine bay

Amazing build so far. I want to recommend a product for you when cleaning such a dirty engine bay. I am not sure if you have this product in the United Kingdom, but it is called Sudslab wheel cleaner. It is a wheel cleaner, but it cleans everything. I have used it to clean 20 engine bays. Safe to use on all parts. Safe on aluminum parts. I have not tried it yet on chrome. What I do is I spray it on a cool dry engine bay or rim. I let it sit for 30 to 45 seconds and then I take my pressure washer and blast off the thick dirt and oil off of everything. You just have to try it to see what I am talking about. It is really an amazing product and it saves you so much time when cleaning. It leaves everything clean without scrubbing. The combination of the pressure washer and the cleaner is what makes it a great product.

Been waiting for another upload for this build! Awesome job! The R36 never came to the US. But, the DQ250 did come in the last iteration of the B6. So, all you need is a 3.6 engine and an ECU to swap in a 3.6? Then the drive train components and a transfer case to make it AWD?

Hamza this is going to sound random. On your MK7 GTI build, you first used a ToyoSport downpipe. Can I confirm that wasn’t a sports CAT and it was indeed a catless downpipe?

You should change the flywheel my r32 just left me on the road because the flywheel broke 😂 And it isn’t cheap either

Try using NO NONSENSE DEGREASER from scewfix, 5ltrs for a tenner and it then just rinse it with water or clean it off with the micro!

@TRhamza mine is done , was very good job , change the oil pump while you are there is a modified one from volkswagen with modified gear wheel .

Get yourself some surfex hd for degreasing purposes its better than brake cleaner for cleaning dirt away, and it has corrosion inhibitors in it.

An alkaline APC will be more effective than break cleaner I guess. Love the content, keep the great job.

APC for that engine bay, that is not the right cleaner for that, making things harder for yourself.

Would love to see you replace the EVAP Purge Valve :) I need to figure out how to do mine...

I had to laugh , maybe a water blaster would have done the same if not better job ... just saying .

You got 3 vr6 engines one should be turbod one should be supercharged and the other N/a

put a new flywheel. u got it out my aswell change it. be headache if u had todo it again down the line

Great video as always! You should get the gearbox vapour blasted. It doesn’t cost mega amounts but the gearbox ends up looking like new! I just had a mk3 golf gearbox done for my mk1 golf and it looks amazing
