After calling the pink Aventador, Dad's V12, I think Papa Strad's old truck should be called Dad's V8 man. Soo soo proud of you James. All of us are! Keep doing what you're doing! Been here since the Lotus days, and not leaving anytime soon!❤
I would do OEM paint. Gold engine, yup. Please keep us in the loop on the progress of that truck. Soon, I want to restore my late father's VW bug and drive my boys to school in it just like he did. He drove that car for so many years. I remember waking up at 6am to watch him leave for the day. Miss you dad...
This is going to be an awesome project ❣️ Just a suggestion my friend, but keep the steering wheel. Would be a good memory that your dad's hands were on the same wheel when driving the truck :) Also just a suggestion, but go with the lighter gold. It seems to match the original color however it's hard to tell without seeing the truck in person. Anyways, keep up the great content 🤘
Of all of the great projects you have ever done I think I am most excited about the restoration of your dad’s truck. Go with the 72’ paint color. That should look great.
@andrewwilbanks5326 I'm a big fan of OEM also. But as someone who had an old Holden Kingswood having to drive on hi beam everywhere to actually see anything I put in the Halo lights and they were a savior
All I have to say is why build such a huge house for your first house as in knowing you have spent millions on your first build to not have finished it yet!! It's a beautiful house for sure but just to much for one person and his dog! & his girlfriend!! Keep up the great work man!!
You’re 100% right tbh. I kinda regret building this house from the standpoint. I’m extremely grateful and I do love it but wish it was simpler and smaller. I do love the size of the garage tho
@@TheStradman This is coming from a guy with a similar sized house, it is crucial to have space for hobbies! The garage is the perfect size. If you ever think there's too much room, just remember that if you ever were to sell it, the value would be drastically increased because of the square footage. I made the grave mistake of filling in the basement of the previous house in this location before building on it, which cost me somewhere in the hundreds of thousands and probably near ~$300,000 in appraisal. It's definitely worth it to have as much space as possible, not so much as what is livable. But whatever floats your boat!
I love the house updates just as much as the car updates. A suggestion for the big garage: because the ceilings are so high; they make sound deadening fixtures that you can suspend from the ceiling. I bet you could find some that look really cool that would tie in with the lights you're thinking of!
Anyone else wish James would do truck-rebuild and house content more? The buying and selling of cars every episode is a bit long in the tooth. I want to see that truck, that house, etc. That truck, with a proper stance, beautiful wood bed, it’ll be gorgeous. Gold truck, black trim, black wood for the bed, etc. 24x12 in the front, 24x14 in the back… chefs kiss.
There’s nothing more admirable or exciting than building up a car that has been in the family for ages and that means so much to you. This is the kind of content that RU-vid needs and wants. It’s authentic, passion filled, and more unique than the regular hypercar/supercar videos. While those cars fill a huge hole in my heart and are the passion of many of those who fell in love with cars initially, it’s been played out by auto groups or hyper car RU-vidrs. This project is not only a great remembrance of your father and your childhood, but represents who you are and how you want him to be remembered in your success story. Well done James. Keep doing the right thing.
Love that you are starting the restoration of dad's truck. Also, if you hire Sophia as your camera operator, she can get a work visa and stay as long as she wants. Can't wait to see the bat cave done.
that is not how work visas work. He would need to have a company with LLC and hire her for something that she is qualified for that isn't a basic job anyone can do (something she is more qualified than the average American is)
@@dellshenanigans1985 she has no management skills and No one would respect her and just call her the owners worthless gf behind her back. Strad wants his pizza shop to workout and hiring a early 20 something with no management skills would be career suicide for the shop.
It’s crazy to see how far James has come. Been watching since his lotus days before the lambo, which was an insanely great idea…. Dude legit tent camped after picking up the lambo. Shoot I remember the starter fiasco with the Audi tt…. Living in your car To owning this huge house and ALL of those cars. No one can say you had it easy or the path was paved….. you had a dream and made it work. Insane. I always get sentimental when I see you doing stuff with your dad’s truck, or in reference to the family. Such a long journey.
thats awesome bro..I just recently lost my Dad and my whole world has been turned upside down..im lost without him..We were Neighbors Business partners and best friends..wish I could afford to do what you are doing James..👏
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 9:9-10, NIV
WE ARE ALWAYS GREATFUL FOR A SIR STRADMAN VLOG !!!! CONTINUED LIFE LONG SUCCESS !!1WE STILL REMEMBER WHEN YOU HAD TO RENT A WAREHOUSE TO PARK YOUR EPIC CARS !!! MY GUY IS FOREVER LEVELING UP !!! A TRUE TRUE INSPIRATION FROM TIME !!! A REAL GENIUS IN MY HUMBLE OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my favorite vehicle you got right now, the story makes this truck mean so much more. cant wait for Papa Strad to look down and see the finished product.
So yeah thank you James, I'm a Civil Engineering student and i feel exhausted and overwhelmed about what's happening and i'm finding some time to rest and then youre video came out ohh vlog from you never cease to give me relaxation and a quick escape from reality, It's 2:02 am here in the Philippines now and yeah i'm a filipino.
love your vlogs and always good to see Sophie back in the country, your Dad is proud of you, looking down from heaven :) The Truck is going to look amazing once finished.
My question is James is smart enough that he clearly owns all his cars with an LLC so why doesn’t he hire Sofia as an employee and pay her like a $1 salary if she doesn’t want anything but than she could get a work visa and be able to stay longer?
This project is one that i hope to not miss... man i would find the factory gold color and keep the old motor and give it a FULL restore... bring it back to how i remembered pops looking as we rode in it... all chrome would be polished.... whichever way u go, I'm here for it...🎉
That's the sign of a true father when you don't care that your daughter is put nail. Polish on your hands because they're your daughters. And your daughters are the world when it comes to being a father😊 Take care and have a great rest of your day upon the face of this Earth, and stay incredibly awesome. Just the way you are😊
Haha the echo on the dry wall test was hilarious, the stock color for the GMC, factor match paint via vin. Brother you probably going to cry on reveal day with the pink Lambo Papa Strad next to it but we here for you for that moment.
Please please do a battery relocation and a wire tuck not only would it look amazing and be show worthy, for your dad, I’m sure he would be proud of what your doing with it, and also it would be cool if you send the wheels off to be custom built for those meaty tires.
Audio engineer here: You don't necessarily need to cover the entire wall with panels. For the big garage - you can buy wider panels and space them about 3ft apart for a pretty similar effect. Even the ones you have now, can be spaced 1-2ft apart and still be pretty effective in reducing the echoes in either garage
Really excited to see progress on the truck. I love the idea of going "OEM Plus" with it. Enough power to be fun but nothing too wacky with the styling, I bet it's gonna be sick.
Your Dad's truck is going to be nice. I would not over do it. The LS3 will be great. Some modern and needed upgrades too eill be nice. But hopefully you find the original paint code. Paint it all original. Recover the bench seat. And keep it near what it was for most of you life. Just restored and a practical daily driver. Either way I'm looking foward to the updates and videos on your family truck. Good luck!
happy birthday James, hope you have a great day with family and friends. sorry i might be a little late or early, not sure of the time difference to Australia. cant wait to see strad pizza up and running. 🎊🍕🍕
