Excellent, your meticulous prep work was very impressive. The finish product looks professionally done! Nice work, looking forward to seeing the car come back Iife!
Just found your channel and have been binging. This is the ideal level of JDM OEM style OCD content to get my fix! You have yourself a new Subscriber my man 🙌
Thank you man, I appreciate that so much! You just nailed exactly how I describe my channel and how I approach my cars, glad it comes through the videos. Thanks for the sub!
If you only spray small areas like wheel wells…how long did you wait between coats? Did the bottle harden up inside and make it hard to spray it while it sits between coats? What did you use to clean the gun if you have remaining bottles to use later?
Oh man, I don't remember exactly how long off the top of my head, but I just followed the directions on the bottle. It didn't harden between coats, but if you have extra, you won't be able to save it for later projects. And Raptor recommends acetone, lacquer thinner, or MEK to clean the gun.
I am a bit sad that you didn't do at least half of the wheel well area(s) covered by the liner(s). I'm sure that you are okay with it because that would have added hours to an already long process. I wish ALL car companies would line 100% of the underside of the car body and wheel wells to help cut down on noise. I'll take 50lbs of additional weight (low on the chassis) if it meant a 3-5 dB reduction in the noise level/floor when driving. I wish Subaru took more notes from Lexus (and less from Toyota)
Seems like a waste of time, man.. All of that effort on 2/3 of both front wells?? Should have just given it a clean and called it a day if you weren't going to do the full wells plus the rears and the entire underside of the car. Like why just do that small area is beyond me. I like the car a lot but so many pointless activities
Clearly you don’t listen very well… I did 2/3 intentionally to match the factory line. The factory wheel well covers the rest. If simply cleaning them wound have been up to my standards I would have done that, but they looked awful so I replaced the coating.
That's fair although it'd annoy me if the rear wells didn't match, even though it will never be seen. Look forward to the progress on the build man, its cool that you're doing this instead of the same old wrx and sti builds that everyone does
