This super secret (Patreon and friend-linked-only) short video has been made for Gaige Tedder, who is restoring the original boat from the movie "Jaws" (follow at the links below). Louis Sauzedde did a video about this very saw, and this one adds a little more detail onto the brilliant foundation he laid. We'll do more in-depth coverage of it when we release a video that will follow a plank from pattern to installation-subscribe so you don't miss it. We'll get into detail about all of the tools (hooray for wedges, clamps, and glue guns!) and we'll have an shop-tested review about this modified Milwaukee 6365.
Rosalind, a vernacular working sailboat built in St. Ives by William Paynter, has had a long and well traveled life. She's being rebuilt in Mystic, Connecticut by Andrew Guest, a boatbuilder and restorer who had already been thinking about building a lugger when he found this one destined for the chainsaw in Oxford, Maryland. Subscribe to this channel to follow her extensive restoration.
***WISHLIST: Andrew is looking for marine engine installation know-how or a recommendation for a good diesel mechanic near Mystic, Connecticut. Reach out to him through the contact form at www.bysnowydhb...
All credit and great thanks for all the wisdom Louis Sauzedde has always imparted at ‪@TipsfromaShipwrightvideos‬ and is also doing with ‪@BristolShipwrights‬ .

You can hold the guard open without a wedge(I don't like to wedge a guard), drill a hole in the front right corner of the soul where it turns up. Loop a couple of rubber bands throw the hole and stretch them over the guard lifting tab. Allows you to have a safe saw that doesn't accidentally kill blade teeth on the floor and your out two or three rubber bands a year.

I do not tell U this, only because U nead figureout this U self, but day when one of my workers send one of my saw to the ground and to finish job I nead remove guard was good day. Long as U use saw by self is only your choice.

A shame that you are again spending a lot of time talking but not doing. I feel it makes your channel suffer and you have an interesting build under way

Looks like Andrew took a moment to explain a process to another member of the community with an important question, decided to make that answer a resource for everyone by making it public recently, and that he did the original video like 7 months ago. A new video came out just a couple weeks ago about progress on Rosalind. We caught it... good stuff.
