In this episode, Taylor takes us around his 1991 Honda NSX. @datgarageyo had this imported from Japan, and has been working to restore it to its original PUURRIITTTYYY ever since. This example of the NSX is the definition of a diamond in the rough.
Before exporting to Australia, this particular example paid a visit to Honda in Tokyo, where Honda restored the NSX under their heritage program. Its so cool that Honda themselves, have the original technicians that worked on the NSX 30 years ago still in the job to restore these beasts.
The Honda NSX is the ultimate JDM Legend from the 90s, with its naturally aspirated V6 VTEC engine pumping out 278 HP under the gentleman's agreement. This engine, however, unlike other JDM legends of the decade, was mid-rear mounted and drove only the rear wheels. Its all aluminium chassis help it keep the weight down, all while making the chassis a little bit stiffer, helping out with the track action. Honda debuted their VTEC technology in this engine with the NSX.
Its such a shame we don't have cars like this anymore. This thing is super raw, super tight and feels amazing even going slow.
