Lovely job. When writing, my preference is for the makers engraving to be on the side. For this reason, if the pen has a screw in section (such as a button filler), I insert the nib and feed with the section installed so that I can line them up as I like.

Thank you. Well, yes, it is a good option, sometimes I'm doing same. But, when you restoring the pen and making video in same time.. Not everything is going as planned or as you usually do. I'm doing my video for entertainment, not a tutorial. But, your option are absolutely correct.

@@HappyPensVideos plus sometimes in very old pens The feed and nib set in a spot for so long that if you try another position it may be not so good...

Hi Dennis, An Ex libris missing from my modest little collection. Fantastic pattern with a beautiful color. The pleasure of restoring a pen, or anything else, gives us huge satisfaction. Another excellent work from you that I try to copy because the end result is always amazing. I'm waiting this week for the Novus 3 to check if it is really good. Novus 2 has so far not shown great effectiveness. PS.: I am still waiting for the Watermans 52 lever box restoration end result. Regards from Lisbon/Portugal😉

Hello Joao, Thanks for your comment. I'm always using Novus 3 as a first stage, and n2 on second stage. In the video it is a few seconds, but in real time you need to work hard )) However, I'm not saying it is the best polish, it could depend of a pen material as well. Ohh.. Why so long???? it's about month already..

Try Simichrome polish. It's a standard for pen restoration here in the US and England.

@@HappyPensVideos You are right. This guy works as a freelancer for several jewellery stores and for that reason so much time. Regarding the polish, indeed will need a lot of "elbow grease". Just as a remark... I always put a bit of silicone grease over the threads. What do you think?

Я бы на стол что-нибудь постелил... Перо "N"?.. Было ли пропущено всё через ультразвуковую ванночку перед драинием "ушной палочкой" с пастой (но только не показано в видео) или это сознательно сделано, так как у большинства "простых" людей, не реставраторов ванночек нет?

Это как бы не стол, а специальный мат, на котором можно резать, работать. N - Newhaven, Англия , Завод Паркера. Эту ручку через ультразвук не пропускал. Промыл под водой щеткой. Там надо осторожно, так как некоторые детали сделаны из эбонита.

латунь может вполне неплохо резать старый эбонит - особенно размягченный или пористый - ихмо лучше жесткий пластик с блистеров типа целулоида, а вот если нехватает усилия тогда и латунью и сталью ))

Какая ручка у вас на постоянке и какую бы посоветовали как первую ручку?

Я пользуюсь Паркер 15 , стальная, шариковая ручка. Работаю на стройке, и там в блокноте иногда делаю записи. Больше нигде ручками не пользуюсь. Покупаю, ремонтирую, коллекционирую. Не смогу что либо посоветовать, так как нету опыта, я ручкой не пользуюсь )))

@@Classniy Я иногда пишу, скорее балуюсь пером)) видео например делаю)) Но, кроме как в видео и проверить перо после ремонта.. мне писать негде.. Поэтому просто коллекционирую))
