I am SO glad I watched this video! And I'm not going to beat you up over the adhesive, lol! One thing that I think helps with mixing small batches like this is to add the concrete to the wster as opposed to adding the water into the concrete. Starting with less water than you think you'll need then adding more as needed. But my takeaway from this video is that I will be sifting my concrete first to eliminate those pebbles (Im just doing small walkway so only using 1-2 bags). I would have never thought to do that prior to watching this because it is supposed to be a fine mix. So thank you and so glad you needed that 3rd bag! There are so many youtubers making DIY videos and trying to make everything look easy and even edit out mistakes. We don't learn as much from those so I appreciate you sharing your honest, unedited experience!!.

I guess reading the instructions isn't your thing. The instructions state specifically how much water to add, how to mix it, specifically not to add any kind of bonding agent and a few other things. Thanks for showing us exactly how not to do something.

Thanks for the informative video. I am doing all of my homework before I attempt using this product on my driveway. Observations, and questions: Isn't the bonding agent sppposed to be rolled on, and let to dry? Not mixed into the re cap mix/water? Also, it seems like you can not get a consistent thickness in the finish by only using a squeegee. I was thinking about spreading the mix out with a squeegee, and then finishing to a rough, non-slip grip with a broom. Again, thanks for the video!
@natesworld814
@natesworld814 4 года назад
Yes the bonding agent is ment to be painted on but there I a method that mixes it in I would not recommend doing it for this application. Recap claims to be self leveling and I believe it works well but I was trying to get a very thin coat on and my floor was poured very poorly but after the second coat I am very pleased with how level it is 🤷‍♂️ except that one spot I didn't notice until it was dry but that's my bad My recommendation is start with a small batch and then work your way bigger after you get a feel for it

A sincere thank you Nate, this will help a ton of people learn not to use these portland based products. Products that contain Portland Cement (which is the " fast set glue" of concrete) always end up too white and match almost nothing. Regret usually follows along with a waste of a great deal of time , hard work and money. These videos are very helpful to others. Been there , done that. Unfortunately. Thank you for helping others.

Yeah you know what I’m so glad I watch this video because I’m fixing to do this tomorrow to my driveway and no I know not to use the bonding agent because it gives it an ugly white color that is not very uniform in the end. Other than that great job. I’m sure it would’ve come out really nice if you didn’t use the bonding agent. I actually have a bottle of the bonding agent that I am going to return now. Great video bro

my guess 1-2 cycles of winter summer and it will look the same, i think it’s better at this point to replace the drive way and while your rebuilding it make sure you have a lot of rebar, and while your there you can add a heating element too, aka no more salt and no more ice. cheers also sorry i’m fried right now i’m passionate when fried

how much sq footage does it get per bag? I got an 11.5ft x 6ft patio I need to resurface about 1/2 in layer.
@natesworld814
@natesworld814 2 года назад
My math says 8.5 bags. If you need the entire patio that deep though I think I would use regular readymix. It will leave you with a much stronger surface. If you only have holes that are a ½ then this product will be fine

I have a 4x5 sq foot area that the surface is too low on my basement floor by about a half inch. Plumbers replaced my sewer line and didn't level up the floor too well. Is this the product to use for that and do you have to use the power drill mixer or can it be done by hand?
@natesworld814

the max thickness of this product is ½ but I don't believe I personally would use it in your situation it may work well but personally I think I would just use normal reading mix may have to pick out a few stones that are to big but it would probably hold up better
