Buying and cleaning up a 70 chevy C10 with lots of issues, I'll try to rectify all of them if this gem will cooperate. check out my other 72 GMC C10 swb videos it's a great truck with lots of potential
Love the video. Love the truck. I hope someone else takes on the parts of the restoration to get it back on the road. Michigan doesn't have anything left, in that good of condition.
Oh he thought the stick was for an auto? So they did mate 350s up to those 3 speeds? I was considering swapping a 327 or 350 into my 74 nova but wanted to keep the three speed
I know short beds look better but I like my long bed on my 1969 C10, actually looked for a long bed , where I can haul longer items with the gate up. Yes, it is a work truck .
Think id patch in the bed quick and get a plastic bed liner..maybe alloy checker plate for the top of bed. Powder coat mat black..if you get a belt sander with a fine paper you could make a patena paint job. Cool base colour. Pull the engine is easy and pull sump..could be simple as a stuck starter. Hard to break a chevy motor.. but pull motor new timming chain..etc etc. Keep it simple..it will look good. Nice truck. Good luck.
I say got nice find truck also motor be 327 or 350 with 2 or 4barrel carburetor types with hand choke also knob be on right side of dash top , Manual transmission be famous 3 speed in tree plus would put racing clutch type in it , rear end be 303 to 410 ratio also be 4 wheel with drum or disk on front and drum on back ! May have power steering also brakes or no power type it was options by dealer and buyer new back in 1970 ! Alternator be 70 to 90 amps type fun to drive and learn on this model of a 1968 Chevrolet C10 with 292 6 cylinder engine with 2 barrel carb hand choke type, with Manual transmission 3 speed, no power steering wheel also brakes plus 4 wheel drum brakes 6 studs 16 inche wheel and West Coast mirrors too plus Slide Rear window even 377 posi rear end! Fuel tank in behind seat is interesting back then too and cool truck! Also when start this vechile put 89 or higher octane gas with a grey bottle of STP Total Treatment fuel injection cleaner in to do STP treat every 3 months too! Hope see future videos on this truck and excellent so far!
Cool find. Yeah these aren't as cheap as they were in the 90s, but they aren't as popular as the 73-87 years as of currently. At the same time, the 67-72s were popular before the Square Bodies were, so that could be why the value has gone down a couple hundred bucks, lol. In that condition it's around $1300 dollars and that has a role in the value too.
I know exactly what l would do to this truck. Change the front clip to 67-68, change to 4 wheel drive positract frnt.rear, redo interior w-factory air w-tach. make it like CST of that era. Also electric wi ndows & seats, insulate whole cab with sound deadner. Take the whole truck apart down to frame. What would you sell it for as is?
i been building a 68 pu i put in a stroked 454 with a heavy duty 400 turbo 12 bolt possi best part the rig has no rust even have a extra cab that has no rust i gave the 327 to my kid for his 67 pu
Dude, this is a jewel and a piece of art that can help with PTSD. At any rate, what year, make, model did the Nissan Wheels come off and did you have to modify the wheels and what were the size 16 inch? Let me know. I need a set of wheels to move mine around. My is almost as rusty as yours. Thanks in advance.
No sir, I decided to give up on it and look for something a little better shape. It was a cool truck and it is currently being rebuilt from the frame up by it's new owner.
I saw that your bed looks trashed, the front panel rotted out, bed floor rotted, and at least 1 side rotted out. Lmc truck has quality replacement panels, I ended up getting the whole bed from them in pieces and put it together. I opted to get the wood floor, it was less money than a steel floor and looks cool but if I were to use it I would go steel floor.
@@streamlinebuilds1490 for me the fact that it would need to be patched plus the time spent straightening out the bed side and $450 for a replacement side sounds really good. My whole bed with all new metal, oak wood floor, stainless steel strips and roll pan ran about 2k. Considering used short beds run $1500 and are rough 2k and no body work sounds good.
In Texas you apply for a bonded title, in other states like Oregon you just apply for a lost title and in 30 days if the previous owner doesn't claim the vehicle you get the title.
