that last guy on 28.515 who was looking for the sale on the yaesu 710 sounded like he was from the states. So that is a pretty good receiver for 10meter band.

You should take a look at the CEC Mod. It will let you transmit APRS, CW, SSTV and receive SSB and so on.

Hello Fred. I really enjoy the videos of these handheld radios. It is an interesting market they've invested in. I bet sales are brisk! There appears to be lots of activity on 10 meters as I suspected. Enjoy!

No it wont transmit properly on 10 meters.

I would not recommend transmitting with the mod.

The radio on these freqs is so way out of tune that it will produce dangerous harmonics on other freqs. These could end up transmitting on emergency channels or even the police. Also the output on CB or 10 meters will be very low. They receive fine but its best not to try and transmit.

Great video, can you recommend an antenna for this radio as I just got it to work on am airband.

As the airband is just above broadcast FM i used a simple telescopic whip and that seemed to work.
