You can buy the charger to charge the radio while the aa(s) are inserted, but i doubt you can use the radio with a charger connected but no batterys! Ive never tried it, but interesting question, cheers bud 👍

@@m6stl2010 most chargers for these radios aren't smart they constantly charge better off getting good quality nimh batteries and charge separately in a rapid charger that's what we do ....

Youre quite right most of the time, they often just carry on charging! 👍
