I'm going through much of the same thing, but I have discovered that the thrill and surprise of cheap records can still be found at estate sales. Many of the companies around here have no idea what some of these records are worth and usually just put an overall price like $3 each. I've found some amazing records in the past few months at incredible prices. Just scored The Germs album for $3 ! In the summertime, yard sales are similar. It's not always great and sometimes records can be over-priced. It all depends on who's doing it. You showed so many excellent albums, but since you said you were going through your collection starting from the beginning, I'm wondering what order you have them in.
I have my records sorted roughly by genre. I don't think k there are estate sales where I live. There are boot and garage sales. I got a good deal on the cruising soundtrack that, up until recently, was the only place you could find a few germs tracks.
I totally agree with you, the excitement of crate digging it’s long gone, I even stop going to certain stores because it’s all so predictable these days, which applies to life in general in my opinion. In other hand, sales bins are full of fairly priced new releases that were initially outrageously overpriced, usually I wait about a year and go get new releases from the sale bins. Cult, INxS and The the were part of the soundtrack of my youth Cheers
Hello, new to your channel, just subbed. Cheap records are still out there if you’re willing to get your hands dirty. Much more satisfying than buying new or releases. I’m going to give you a shoutout later today on my new video. Looking forward to future videos. Interesting choices. Cheers.
Yep, the days of "cheap" bins in record stores, flea markets and antique malls are probably long gone. I still find a deal now & then, so I haven't lost hope entirely 🙂 Tears For Fears - excellent album even beyond the hits, I wholeheartedly agree. Kick is a fun album too but, for what it's worth, none of the songs hold a candle to Don't Change (IMO). Looking forward to the next batch!
lotta defective records now. thing is new records often cost $10 less than used. the asking prices and the de facto price fixing on used records is awful. freakin collectors prices for cutouts? geez.
I'm half way through this video and I'm laughing so much at that Billy Corgan diss. I love him tho but of course his ego at one point was more famous than the band I think
