I'm glad it worked for her. Despite my doctor's efforts, I still lost all my vision in my left eye. I had to lie flat post op for two weeks. I got well acquainted with my carpet. 😂😁
@@RedSpiralHandTV there are places/doctors that would probably do it pro bono or at a very, very reduced fee. Keep in mind, if you got it one eye, more than likely you will get it in the other eye as well, nobody knows when, it could be in three months or in three years Good luck.
I'm glad you're healing well! I too had a torn retina 4 years ago and including the procedure you said was performed on your eye I also had a scleral buckle installed and the vitrectomy which removed all the fluid including all my floaters which was what pulled the retina loose.. I had to spend the first week face down 24/7 in order to keep the retina pressing against the eye . I had no vision lost. I have never had any flashes of light since the surgery. Absolutely adore my retina surgeon. Always recommend him to everyone.

@@kingkato2731 hopefully you've been in contact with your ophthalmologist so you can schedule yourself for surgery for a torn retina. Not something you want to push aside is I have two friends that didn't hustle fast enough and lost the vision in that eye. I raced to my retina surgeon and one of the doctors in the office reconnected it for the time being hoping that would work permanently. But since I still had fluid under the retina I have to have the major surgery which is a three-part surgery. I never lost any vision and 4 years later I couldn't be happier with my doctor. Please hustle to your retina surgeon get this handled right away so you don't lose any vision. My prayers are with you!
Marie Apple what do I do I been to 3 eye doctors in a month in a half they say um fine but each one always says some different like one said pd the other said he see a few floaters but nonthing to worry about and the third said he thing it's a lil cataract beggining but that will be in 20 years so I think they are lying but cuz my issues is severe burning any light hurts floaters flashes curtain it has been 6 months like this I think I contracted a virus from an encounter sexually 6 months ago herpes and maybe the other one anyway I have had many symptoms including this one I have never had eye issues or anything until that encounter I have no insurance I freaked out and lost my job due to these things happening now um suicidal so I don't see any natrual ways of beating this

I had laser eye surgery after an emergency referral. I was told I’d need to be seen in two weeks time. That was 3 weeks ago, I rang to ask what was happening only to be told no appointment had been made for me. When I explained my situation they said I’d receive an appointment in the post. I’m still waiting. So much for emergency.
There are 3 types of surgery for detached retina. The one I had was done in the office. A few days of positioning and a few days of lazer. It was painful
I am going into week 5 of my recovery. Had to have a laser enhancement to seal a small hole just into week 2. The eye is doing ok, vision is good, but I do see the occasional “ghost” light, and some peripheral darkness which is slowly fading. My final (I hope) exam is in a week & a half. Hope it goes well - A month & a half off work & big bills are making things somewhat tight.
@@calebjones1046 sorry for late reply, couldn't see much you know :-) While healing from my eye, my 2nd retina also detached so i was almost 6 weeks face down, quite an experience. The 2nd operation was a bit of a horror story as they didn't give enough anesthetic. I told them i could see them and that i couldn't in the first operation but they just continued and i jumped a meter high when they went with - i don't know what device - straight into my eye, brrrr. As for now, i am kind of ok but i still have the oil in my eye which has to be removed in 6 months with another operation, it is a long story.

@@bubhuyssen6659 i am going in soon for this surgery.. i'm a smoker so cant have anesthesia so am worried. they keep warning me about coughing. ( smoked 42 years. ) you CANNOT cough for an hour and a half. and worried without general anesthesia i will feel the pain.. or that the numbing shot will be as bad as the dental ones... VERY painful....the sudden movement would be disasterous they keep telling me.. of a cough... so you lived through my nightmare. i am so sorry that happened.. and i pray you are alright
I had retinal detachment surgery last year. The surgery was a success. However my right eye will never have normal vision ever again. It always going to be like looking through a fogged window. Something tells me that I could have have been through head trauma. The doctor says NO. However I did have a few concussions. Could head trauma be the cause of it?
Hi there. I am very shortsighted and I have been experiencing some kind like sparkles and kind like a rolling light colour floater along side my outer corner of my eyes, I’ve been checked 5 times, with dialled eye exam and my retina is nice and flat, 10 months going by and the same symptoms. When you mentioned about the light bulb in your vision, how was it? Was it a light full circle going across your vision? This happens to me when I wear my contact lenses and it’s always in the night and when I go to sleep I see this lights. Please help me to understand more about this, as the doctors say the same thing 😢
@@suroshkanaidoo sorry to hear you are experiencing this. I know how is like! My flashes are like an arch in the corner of the eyes but it is not constant, it’s just when I stare at something, but now they are very rare, only when I am super tired or when I watch a lot of tv and work on the pc. Floaters are still there, as long as you don’t have flashing like a blackout and a black patch which doesn’t go away I think it’s fine. Keep strong, there are millions of people who have this, it will get better once the vitreous have detached. Just keep positive and try to get occupied with something which you like and you will see that the flashes will go away x
Its been 18days after Vicretomy surgery i had some fluid behind my retina when i noticed things wavy immediately i went to doctor and said my problem they did focal lazer firstly they informed me tht 70% this may recover in lazer otherwise we have to do surgery i agreed my vision was good for 13days again same problem started then again i went to doctor they said i should undergo a surgery bt i dono the name of the surgery completely but i have gas bubble still 30% i still see things wavy on my usual appointment doctor said its bez of gas bubble But my right side my eye looks wavy does this goes or no i dono
Fluid can leak from your eyeball into the back of your eye and cause your retinal tear to become bigger and possibly cause blindness. This is what my doctor told me.
I had an experience . I woke up and saw a steady bolt of lightning in the lower right hand corner of my right eye . It was stationary and I could definitely grasp that it was an electrical charge of some kind because it was very bright like those stars of lights you sometimes see when you get up from sitting or when you've been concked over the head .. I began to panic somewhat because I expected it to go away and it didn't . Finally I turned by right eye all the way to the right and it disappeared . I am 65 years old . What do you suggest ?
It is very important that whenever you notice visual disturbances, flashes or new floaters in your vision that you get your eyes checked by an optometrist (optician) or ophthalmologist (eye doctor). It is important that this is done as soon as you can preferably within the same day. You can call your optometrist to ask if they can see you or if it is out of hours go to an eye casualty or A&E department. Sometimes symptoms of flashes may be due to natural age related changes to the jelly inside the eye and if so are nothing to worry about. However, in some cases these symptoms can also be a sign of a more serious problem such as a retinal tear or detachment and these conditions need to be treated urgently to prevent sight loss. The only way to know whether the flashes are harmless is to have your eyes examined as soon as possible.

@@pareshchugani5356 after about 6 month, if I'm rested. If my eyes are tired the double vision returns. I have two pair of glasses, one for when my eyes are rested and one pair to correct double vision (prismatic).
I went in yo optometrist immediately upon first symptoms. I was cleared twice! Tear led to detachment because of delayed care. I've heard many stories like mine. Why aren't optometrist held responsible for misdiagnosis? Why is this acceptable?
I wasn't so lucky. Mine happened on a Sunday and I called my doctor on Monday morning. I was told that they no longer do eyes and I had to call the service that it has been commissioned to. They thought it was a tear and called my hospital who wanted me seen in the community in the first instance, so I was given an appointment on Wednesday afternoon at SpecSavers, who were excellent. They couldn't see the tear, so asked me to return on Thursday for a further check and following this they referred me to hospital. I got a call from the hospital on the Friday morning to go in Friday afternoon, where they discovered 3 tears, and because it had been left for so long I had suffered a retinal detachment. I had to have about 20-25% of my retina lasered around the circumference of the detachment, circling all of the tears. I have subsequently suffered 2 break throughs in the laser scarring, and have had more laser. My sight is misty and I have the most annoying large, black, spidery floaters. I hope it will improve, but the wait caused by my hospital not calling me in immediately has definitely contributed to sight loss. I am devastated.
Had the same three times. Buckle on both eyes and silicon oil now in right eye as that was the worst retinal tear. Oil needs surgery to remove it. But thsnkfully my Taiwanese doctor was fantastic. Oil will be removed in a few years due to the severity of the tears. But vision good even with oil. Regular 3 month checks. Thank you to my doctor in Taiwan. Saved my sight.
@@Engineer_With_A_Life how's your vision any improvement...i have oil too in my eye it been 3 weeks since surgery i see everything but there is too much of scattering and refraction in vision
Hello. I have lattice degeneration in both yes. Before one and half year, I had PVD in my left eye, which resulted in three retinal tears and retinal detachment. Symptoms were some floaters and many light flashes. This has been threatened via vitrectomy, so the vitreous has been removed and the gas bubble put in the eye for 3 weeks + scleral buckling. The result is fine I have full vision (some negative -1,5 dioptrie becasue of scleral buckle) but in general OK. What is scaring me, that even after one and half year I still experience occasional light flashes in my eye. I have regular examination by my doctor and the checks are OK. No new tear and the retina is laying as it should. My question is, how it is possible that I still experience light flashes after 18 months even the vitrios has been removed??? In my right eye, I also have multiple lattice degeneration, but this has been threatened via laser. This laser cause also PVD, but the laser saved the retina before detachment. I had also light flashes in my right eye after this laser for 6 months, but after the vitrious fully detached from retina it stopped. Thank you
Had some floaters contacted GP and optition two days later woke up blind in left eye went to hospital detached retina and mocula damage no fix blind in left eye I have lots of Neuro and muscle problems got a feeling this has something to do with it happening so quick . Hope right eye is ok Texts so far it's ok body right eye still adjusting to the situation
MINE is bad because it's OLD-- and the cataract is coming out at the same time because IT"S old-- and hard-- said it would be very difficult-- on scale of 1-10 mine is a 15 at the LOW end.. and they will NOT use gas bubble on me-- but fill it with silicon oil and an acrylic lens so it won't cloud up.. THEN I have to have the retina re-attached (laser) in mid october... right now it's a cataract and vitrectomy!! Going to be rough on me-- but NO special positioining afterward like yours was.. :)
How are you now Mr. David? Wishing you the best with this procedure. I had a same surgery using silicon oil yesterday. I'll be more optimistic than thinking negatively. Hope for the best.
@@ronnietabones7395 Just had an 8 week checkup- and he says I'm doing well- even though I can barely see ONLY light. He said it was not "mature" enough- but that I have a little scar tissue that he WILL be going in to remove-- in 8 more weeks but is very optimistic. My doc PIONEERED some of the processes for this-- the thing to remember is my retina injury is 5 years old!!! Normally they tell you if it's NOT repaired in 48 hours- it's NOT possible- but my doc, as I said- PIONEERED some of the processes for this- and says it will work fine. I go back in 8 more weeks to see when THAT surgery will be. :) Good luck with yours-- if your retina injury was recent- you'll be fine- in DAYS or maybe week or two-- instead of MONTHS like me- cause, as i said- mine is OLD- and shouldn't have even been possible!!
