I hope, as you mentioned, you will give some regular attention to those of us who have to be single travellers, as so many channels seem to largely forget about us. As a 70 year old current retiree, this idea presents a very interesting option ...even as an occasional or one time alternative to land retirement living. As I am lucky enough, or some might say boring enough, to be quite satisfied with a collection of reading material, some quiet nooks and crannies to relax undisturbed, an occasional movie or theater production, and access to food and tea whenever desired, I will be very interested to see any further offerings, regarding somewhat cheaper options, even if on smaller ships with fewer amenities. I'm delighted to be one of your early subscribers, and congratulate you on a well produced, informative, and interesting video. Best of luck with your channel.

I appreciate that you are showing it’s not as inexpensive as people think it is. In certain circumstances it can be less expensive than living on land, but it really requires so much planning and very far in advance that most people don’t have those skills, even if they had the money.

YES! I'm so glad you are hearing my message! I just don't want people to assume it's cheap based on those news articles that go viral every once in a while. I talk about this a little in last week's video. Thanks for watching, and I hope you'll consider subscribing! :)

You can probably do a little better by a) booking your further out cruises while on board, as the lines typically offer discounts for this., b) making your initial bookings through a travel agent, especially one who focuses on cruises, as they often offer incentives such as prepaid gratuities, on board spending, free excursions, etc. As I understand it, you can actually link your travel agent with the on board booking. And don't forget to take advantage of frequent cruiser benefits through crown and anchor.

Some credit cards have medical evacuations. Also you can usually get inexpensive annual medical travel insurance.

Who would live in an inside?
@CCoburn3
@CCoburn3 4 месяца назад
Well, on a cruise ship, you don't stay in your room that much. So an inside room is not a big deal.

@@CruiseNewsNetwork One thing you might look into is the cost of living in an assisted living facility. Obviously, someone who needs to live in a nursing home cannot live on a cruise ship. But assisted living facilities also cater to people who don’t need constant medical treatment, but need help with the cooking and cleaning. Those facilities can be expensive. And no one ever says, “The food at the assisted living facility is fabulous!” Plus, if you live on a cruise ship, you don’t mope about why your family is not visiting you every week. I think a video comparing cruises with assisted living facilities would cut down on the complaints you get.

this video lacks A LOT of information to retire on a cruise ship which is critical when considering. you can reach out to a travel agent if you have one OR highly suggest you get one, worse case scenario, you can go through royal carribean's customer service to inquire about long term/retirement cruises. they actually offer much more discounts that could save you tens of thousands if you're planning on retiring with them.

“It’s also got a ton to offer” cause senior citizens love water slides, splash pads, ropes courses, rock climbing walls, children’s rides and surf simulator’s! “The smaller ships have fewer activities” “I kinda think that my retirement is a second childhood so I really like the idea of having my own water park to enjoy” You still are a child, you never grew up! Ppl don’t listen to this crazy lady, just retire on land near the water and take a yearly vacation to an all inclusive resort!

@panda4757 How sad that you got sucked into the stereotype of seniors needing to stay home and behave ourselves! I’m a senior and proud to still love waterslides and I even took my granddaughter to a Taylor Swift concert. Some of us like to actually get out and do whatever we want. How judgy of you to post that. This lady isn’t telling us what to do. But YOU are. YOU are a bore. Stay home and take your meds. Shorter line at the waterslide for me and my grandkids.

i know few grannies loves to have fun, nothing wrong with that, also in my recent RC cruise i see a lot of people above 70 enjoying all these kind of activities and having fun (except rock climbing).

Thanks so much, @KRIPSYNODUTS! You are so nice to jump to the defense of retirees! Since 51% of cruisers are over 50, I've never felt alone on a cruise. (And sorry for the duplicated replies if they appear on your end. I thought I typed your name wrong in the first one... but then saw I was right.) Have a great day and thanks for watching!

While this ship is not my ideal for my solo cruising, it will be great for me and my grandkid. And please remember “retirees” are now gen X. In retirement I’m living the teenage years I worked through. I’ve taken up skating and play video games until 12am. The “retired” population is more active now than ever before. Why are you watching a cruising channel if you’re not into cruising? Oh, I get it. You’re just a troll.
