Retired UPS driver reveals new details of Waco siege

2018 marks 25 years since the deadly 51-day standoff between the Branch Davidian cult and the federal government in Waco, Texas. More than 70 people were killed over the course of the siege, including leader David Koresh, his followers and federal agents. For the first time, a retired UPS driver is revealing how he unknowingly delivered weapons and ammunition to the compound in the weeks before the confrontation. "48 Hours" correspondent Peter Van Sant joins "CBS This Morning" to preview his report, which airs Friday, Dec. 29, at 8/7c on CBS.

"They began buying guns" The part they left out is they were also selling guns. The Branch Davidians were licensed FFL holders and were legally selling firearms to fund their church. What the media calls a stockpile of weapons is what most gun dealers would call inventory.

@@KimberUs hand grenades were thrown at the ATF agents on feb 28th. They had empty pineapple grenade shells but they also had live grenades. Graeme Craddock went to jail because he had a live grenade in his pocket on april 19th. Do you think he had an empty shell on him and they convicted him over that? Jerry Petrili had 47 entry wounds from a Davidian grenade on the 28th. They had live grenades - go read the report not some conspiracy theory documentary. No one who knows anything about this denies that the davidians had live hand grenades.

No one is going to ship a box of loose grenades. Grenades are shipped in small containers secured in larger containers. This delivery driver is full of BS.

Roy Lehew , there was no need for the gov to bring all those cops, FBI, military personnel, tanks, helicopters, etc. just to arrest David Koresh. only 2 or 3 cops could get a search warrant and do a legal search in the compound. and if it was needed the cops could write a citation for the court hearing for explaining why the branch davidians had bought so much weapons & ammo. and maximum David Koresh would have been sentence jail time at the end. But when they invaded the compound as if they were invading an enemy army at the frontline there was no other alternative left but a gun fight. But again, why didn't both sides let the children & their mothers leave the compound first before they start the gun fight? it seemed as if they wanted the children to get killed.

@@trollgeneral6624 except this was a load of crap the search warrant had been for illegal firearms. Even the sheriff of McLennan county which is where Waco is said that he wanted to notify the ATF and wanted them as backup when he served a search warrant. The ATF and DHS wanted to make this a show of shock and awe. Had it gone like originally planned local or would have done a warrant and lawyers would be dragging these cases out in court. Instead ATF wanted to play cowboys and robbers and got innocent people killed.

Nope I work in FedEx and UPS it's perfectly normal for us to ship ammo to people. Generally speaking as long as it's not a bomb or illegal drugs we don't really ask questions about what's inside the box we could risk our jobs and risk liability.

Strange that nothing illegal was ever found there. I met David in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1990. He was with 3 others, going by what he said to me, they were recruiting new members. I didn't go, but his words always stayed in mind. In 2005 I decided to go to waco and pay my respects. I had the pleasure in meeting a couple of branch davidians...it was a heart filled experience. Been there every year since 2007 and its truly a humbling experience.

1) No 50 cal. weapons were found, meaning the search warrant is at best fraudulent, and 2) the official story is that the fire was an accident. They did, 12 of the children who died were children of Koresh: Cyrus, Star and Bobbie Layne, children of Rachel Jones, Koresh’s first and only legal wife; Serenity, Little One and Small One Jones, children of Rachel’s sister Michelle, who “married” Koresh at 12; Dayland and Paiges Gent, children of Nicole Gent; Mayanah Schneider, daughter of Judy Schneider; Hollywood Sylvia, daughter of Lorraine Sylvia; Startle Summers, daughter of Aisha Gyarfas Summers, another underage bride; and Chanel Andrade, daughter of Kathy Andrade. Most sources count 23 children in the compound, so if add in the five Martinez children, Wayne Martin’s two younger daughters Sheila and Lisa, and Melissa Morrison, that gives us 20. I’m assuming Aisha Gyarfas, who was 17, may be included, as well as her very near-term stillborn infant, and Nicole Gent’s unborn fetus as well. So there’s the 23 children, 14 of which (12 kids, two unborn babies) were Koresh’s biological children. The autopsy reports on the kids included DNA samples to verify identification.

I’m sorry I have never seen any FREIGHT come out of a sealed box. If a box is damaged , torn , then possibility merchandise can come out of it. I can’t believe someone shipping grenades would let them roll freely in a box with no packing. A motorcycle helmet has packing . Grenades being illegal to sell roll freely in a box . I’ve heard conflicting stories on the grenades. I had heard 4 grenades came rolling out of a box now I’m hearing 6 to 9 grenades rolled out of a box. I heard you say a arms dealer was supplying weapons & grenades. Why wasn’t the arms dealer arrested ? It is against the law to sell grenades. It is against the law to sell automatic weapons . The driver just happens to see the arms dealer name in boxes sent to Branch Davidians. The Driver turns in Branch Davidians . ATF fails to prosecute the arms dealer for selling illegal weapons and grenades. There is something seriously wrong with the drivers story. If I found grenades rolling round a truck I would immediately contact authorities. They would confiscate the grenades . It is a felony charge for the driver to not report the crime , conceal evidence to a crime. This guy is lucky he is getting retirement from UPS. He should be in prison for concealing evidence and not turning weapons over to authorities .

The Branch Dravidians were innocent, the people who murdered the Dravidian children should go to jail for life. The fact this incident isn't discussed that often is odd to me especially now, where it seems the media focuses on stories where police officers are caught abusing black citizens. What happened in Waco was one of the greatest examples of law enforcement brutality, where government law enforcement and FBI were murdering the Dravidians and children in mass for no reason other than the weird religion they followed. it's one of the greatest historical examples of a tyrannical police state that I've ever seen, These crazy cult members that media smeared didn't even shoot first... and Timothy Mcveigh was working for the military and served as the fall guy for the false flag perpetrated in 1995 at the Murrah building in Oklahoma City. You cannot blow a steel-frame concrete-walled building in half with simple things like a homemade propane fertilizer combustible.

Fire trucks DID show up. The Feds prevented them from reaching the compound. The FBI also knew that the compound was built from plywood and OSB (oriented strand board), and the CS "gas" (actually a fine white powder) was mixed with flammable paint stripper in order to be deployed into the building. They ALSO knew that CS is NOT recommended for use indoors because it incapacitates the subjects to the point they cannot function well enough to get to an exit. FINALLY, the FBI knew that gas masks are too big to seal to children's faces.

Grenades fell out of a box, who placed an opened box of Grenades in the UPS Truck, Federal regulations has requirements for packaging and shipping of explosives, if you are authorized to have possession of these explosives.

That poor UPS delivery man carries unimaginable guilt that is not his. He couldn’t possibly have known what was in parcels that he delivered to the Branch Davidian compound. He was just doing his job. But, just as soon as grenades fell out of one of the boxes, he did the right thing and acted immediately.

The "special commission" that whitewashed the whole thing was chaired by Senator John Danforth, who as Missouri Attorney General had on his staff folks like John Ashcroft and Clarence Thomas, all "heavy hand of government" types. A group called the "FLIR Project" did a proper recreation and the heat signatures they generated from three-round bursts from the correct gun and correct ammo PRECISELY MATCHED the heat signatures that showed up on the FBI's own footage.

They didn't have many guns and those guns they showed at 1:38 are not from the Ranch. There is people like matt on Demolitionranch that has more guns than that. He has so many he is building a vault for all his weapons. Why doesn't the government do something about his "Ranch"? Then a lot of the guns the Ranch of Davidians had were investments because he knew they were going up in price. Check out the video of the Gun Smith that did business with David. UPS drivers delivers bullets and gun parts all over the states. Some UPS people probably has delivered more ammo to people than this joker ever delivered to the Davidian.

Such BS ups delivers guns to FFL holders all the time & grenades.. REALLY he should have called the police then & there because I doubt if ups is authorized to deliver explosives like that..wtf..grenades fall out & you don't call anybody you just throw them back in the box & deliver them??? He needs to be charged!!
