@@b.t4604 @CatSoupLover come on, don't be so insulting. Dissy didn't say "you're wrong! Eric Rosen is doing it!" He just helpfully informed the OP where else this kind of self-commentary content can be found. To be especially analytical, OP said "GM does xyz, who else does that?" Well, IM Eric Rosen does that. As does IM Levy Rozman. They're not GMs, but they _do_ put out this kind of content. Dizzy was simply being helpful, but also _I_ am asserting that Rosen and Rozman are valid answers to the question in the comment.

Hikaru, making the chess world look stupid calling him retired over and over. They're just mad he has monetized himself and created new genres of chess fans all while still be a top level player in all formats. Role model for all players.
@mcripchip
@mcripchip 2 года назад
No doubt, Hikaru is simultaneously one of the strongest players, one of the clearest educators to players of all levels and one of the best if not the best chess related content creators. His classical resume may not be as impressive as Vishy or Magnus but he really on par or even I daresay ascended them as an influencer for the sport, at least here in the west.

Just watched AGAD's coverage of this game, and didn't realize, even after the diagonal is opened, there are still a few opportunities for Grishuk to trade down to bishop and pawn end game, which is very tricky, one need to push very hard to win. Great coverage, very instructive. I wish i can see more game analysis on this channel.

One wonders if Hikaru’s years of online chess and tactics training have actually improved his classical chess, in contradiction to others beliefs. Maybe he is a better classical player now, maybe not. We wait and see!
@Mentaljedi
@Mentaljedi 2 года назад
Fabiano didn't do a lot of the online tournaments during COVID when Magnus, MVL, Nepo and Anish did. Anish particularly seemed to have gotten better and the other players didn't seem to have much of a change in ability. So it certainly didn't have a large negative affect - the only negative i think is the leaking of prep by playing so much

I am sure it was a case of misspeak, but Simon Williams is a GM not IM and he does refer to the h pawn as Harry. Hikaru did correct himself and he was correct Simon became an IM in 1998 and attained the GM title in 2008. So there was 10 years between his IM and GM title. Not razzing GM Nakamura just wanted to set the record straight for anyone listening who may not be aware. I verified the dates of title acquisition on the FIDE website.
