@infinityrose92 I'm sorry but I don't agree with your sociological break down there. And as for Millennials, they often talk too loud about their individuality (while all sounding the same) and maintaining an air of of moral superiority. Its laughable- say you believe in equality, yet your iPhone is made by wage slaves, say you believe in free speech yet shout down people who disagree. Satanic panic? I grew up in the 80s and I never heard of that- and I went to catholic school. I. Not sure what wiki page you ripped that from, Nintendo was boss. I disagree, w you. Good healthy conversation though, I respect your opinion, i just dont share it.

I turned 18 in 1980 which means I was lucky enough to be in my prime throughout the entire decade. Lol. I can remember what I was doing and what I wore in each year but once the 90’s arrived and I had kids my memory lasted 24 hours. I think everyone thinks the decade they were in their 20’s was the best one ever but I’m sorry- the 80’s were fricking awesome. There was still a certain innocence throughout the decade even though there was a certain amount of debauchery going on. That’s all I say about that. Lol. I danced more in those 10 years than all of the rest of my years out together. MTV was always on because there was always something new being played. There was so many groups and solo singers that were cranking out some of the best rock ever made that you never wanted to turn it off because you didn’t want to miss anything. Getting ready to hit a club in the 80’s was almost as much fun as actually going out, too. The clothes might look ridiculous now but we looked hot as hell and walking into a club made you feel like you were on a red carpet. The hair was the highest, the perfume was insane with scents that screamed sex - Georgio, Poison, Givenchy and so many other ones that announced your arrival before anyone even saw you. 😁. I’d have to take a shower even if it was 4 am or I knew I’d wake up reeking of cigarette smoke even though I didn’t smoke, perfume and booze and my hair would be hard as a rock from all of the shit I sprayed on it. Those 10 years were the best I’ve had.

A good voice-over find... the legendary Karl Weber for Red Lobster at the 5:33 mark. He dialed it back a bit from his usual style and it works very well.

1985 was a pivotal year for me - left LA for a job that ended up sticking me in Indianapolis (or as I called it “Indiana-no-place”) before moving on to NYC in ‘86 and all I had was MTV, “Back to the Future” and “Breakfast Club” to distract me from the emptiness of the Middle of the Country when you weren’t born there...
