Fun fact, this game is based off the TV show GameCenter CX, where Arino (a real person) has to beat old video games, each one in a single day, as well as touring local arcades and interviewing game developers. It's a cult classic and one of my favorite TV shows ever.
He's a bit of a legend among both Nintendo employees and Japanese gamers. He's made a cameo in quite a few first party titles including Mario Maker, Zelda, and Pokemon.

I had a lot of fun with this. It sucks that the two sequels are Japan only. According to wikipediaiits based of a Japanese gaming TV show with the gamemaster based off the host.
Really disappointed we never saw the sequel stateside. Definitely a solid title. Sadly, nothing else quite like it. Though if you want something that at least has the retro games part down, I recommend Retro Game Crunch; but sadly it doesn't go after the full feeling of simulating 80s/90s gaming culture.
Where can i find cheat codes for this game? i don't like having to unlock all of the games when i lose my save file,or when i play the game on my phone with an emulator that doesn't recognise my save file from when i played the game on PC.
I always assumed this was just a rip off of NES Remix, but it looks like they went out of their way to make it different. The different types of games definitely makes this interesting.
That's crazy! I've only ever seen it in passing as I don't think it was released in the UK again 😂 Makes you wonder if Nintendo saw this and took their time making their own version.
@@ryoma0045 Maybe, but its partially based off a game show in Japan. Apparently it undersold in the US which is why its a bit rare and expensive now and why the sequel never got localized.
