@@LearnElectronicsRepair it does me too sir...even more so... spelling and grammar has deteriorated with modern schooling...and spellcheck/ spellcorrect doesn't seem to help much either..I find it more hindrance..I could've earnt money as an English teacher if I'd chosen that path..I wasted my Grammer School education..one of the best in North London..not that it had that status when i attended..I just feel 'rough' grotty today I probably picked up a virus..I'll probably fall asleep during the Euro final match tonight

@@LearnElectronicsRepair my mistake....cant use to it, because as I translate it from Slovak language (and it is same for Polish,Czech,etc), it is non sense...so it is a meaning mistake - principe which is used differently in English. I used to live in Birmingham 15ys ago and met meny Englishmen with bad English. So I can only try my best and sometimes,you know ... :D

LOL, don't bother removing the paper label on the CPU, just add an entire tube of thermal compound.

How many boards have you seen where there was a paper label left on the processor and glooped over with HSC? Why would a builder would do that?

@@LearnElectronicsRepairyeah it was already a disgrace on the AMD K6, when they starting putting paper stickers on Socket370 Intel Celeron / Pentium III and Socket462 Athlon/Duron/Sempron I started to get worry and checked to be sure it was never touching the "core" but later on Socket 478 Pentium 4/Celerons and S754/939 Athlon64 & Semprons I got fed up and had to call my distributor and tell them something. At least these people weren't selling auto/truck parts or fixing them WTF!

I made exactly the same comment last week. It started with the unlidded processors which was ok, but so many of the lidded processors Richard shows had these labels I questioned whether they came from the same system builders.

Damn, the amount of thermal paste on that second system! 😂 They should had put an all caps note about put some thermal paste not the whole damn tube/bag. 😅 It's all laughs when it happens to someone else, so thanks for the good time. I should share that kind of stuff whenever I find it to make someone happy out of my misery too.

Yeah that use of thermal compound was.... impressive. Not as impressive when a customer brought a PC into the workshop for repair after he used toothpaste as thermal compound... but still impressive none the less 😆

A buck converter (voltage step down) can be either Synchronous or Asynchronous just as a Boost converter ( voltage step up) can be Asynchronous or Synchronous.
@LearnElectronicsRepair
@LearnElectronicsRepair Месяц назад
Interesting because, as an experiment, if you type 'buck converter circuit' into google search and then select images you find the schematic I showed with the diode and if you type 'synchronous converter schematic' you get images of the schematic I showed with two mosfets. That aside, we are both highlighting that there are two types of the circuit commonly known as a 'buck converter' or sometimes a 'VRM' so I think we should just keep up the good work. Not that it is likely to make much difference to what people will call them 😉

Nice idea but way too many errors for it to make much sense somebody made an attempt at recopying this' '/ has somebody made an attempt at recapping this 'it has a strange with four Pho connectors' / This is strange, it It has four phono connectors 'this is an early mother bu' / this is an earlier motherboard 'this is actually a book converter' / this is actually a buck converter 'if England win the Euros, they asked Kia storm' / They asked Kier Starmer (the prime minister) 'a working panum 4' / A working Pentium 4
