@Erikas Sadauskas wrong wrong and wrong :) independence is illusion cause we never been truly free maybe in LDK times before christianity and poland. After that we depended on poland or unity with latvia/belarus etc. We been part of russian empire 120 years+, then again pretending we are free for a time, and ww2 changed it again. Even after ussr collapsed we not depending on european union and nato that tells us what to do and how to do it. Communism if implemented good, is almost utopia where people live in equality and unity. Sadly mostly we had socialism and stalins dictatorship ruling. In 60s 70s 80s like i mentioned we came closest to what marx envisioned but still with many flaws. Amalgamation is a fancy word too, i doubt you know what it means, and it is not that bad, micro districts that were build, gave hundreds of thousands of people free places to live in each city of ussr and live near schools and their jobs. Ask anyone who grew up in those micro districts how their childhood were, and most will say it was amazing, many friends, all close to each other, safe place to play and raise children. Capitalism and violence from west in 90s 00s destroyed everything or left it to rot and now we live in massive inequality, corruption and insane emigration times.

@Erikas Sadauskas First of all im lithuanian, born in ussr. Soviet union is a big thing and always will be. Statistics show that over 60% of former soviet union citizens think ussr collapse was bad thing and life was better back then. Do a research cause sounds like you are born after 1990 and have no clue about those times just various propaganda from media. You actually described 90s and 00s lithuanian child/teen life in blocks and micro districts, because i experience both ussr times in my teens and seen my friends life in 90s chaos. And i was talking about 60s 70s 80s life in cities, no fights, no thiefs. Ask your parents about safety in cities and yards back then, even bigegst soviet hater will agree on that, crimes were low or not existent. Those soviet apartments were amazing thing if society is good, if not then its dangerous place like it was in 90s mafia times and today when all drunks and asocial people live today. About alcoholism, it was problem since who knows when, lithuanians drank during wars in medieval times and every evening. Yes russians had some impact on that too, i dont deny it cause its true. But since if we are independent for 30 years now and still leading world or at least are in top 3 5 countries in alcohol consumption per capita, that shows that it is not just ussr fault, cause new generation that now are 20 30 years old cant imagine weekends or celebrations without alcohol. Another tip for you if you try to act as smartass and pretend to know about ussr, never compare other countries to ussr, neither north korea, neither east block and especially east and west germany that was political playground and not our unified country state. Soviets had no intentions to give shit about east germany took half cause usa would have taken over and closed gap to poland. Also i wonder what prosperity you mean? more useless electronics? more cheap asian products? soviet engineering was sometimes outperforming western technology. Not that we beaten usa for few decades 50s 60s in nuclear and space race, but also our products were quality, tv/radio that held for 20 30 years, cars werent comfortable or powerful but were extremely durable that last for 40 50 years and just recently gave their life ( i know that cause my family and relatives had zhiguli until late 90s. All tools were from stainless steel and were also indestructible, want to compare them to today chinese crap that breaks after 2 3 years? Just because i have experience and lived in those times, means i can talk with facts and compare both lithuanians now and past. There are 5 communist states in world today, it would be way more if not capitalism and unimaginable propaganda from west that you see on "delfi" media site every single day and in comments all who seen those times are laughing from reporters for posting absolute nonsense. Yes north korea is slight abomination with dictatorship regime similar to stalin times. China managed to balance socialism and capitalism and became one of most powerful countries in world that ussr could have done too if not of weak leaders like gorbachev. Cuba even with another dictator managed to be one of most advanced countries in south and central america, has extremely high education system, scientists and medics helping in various world disasters and crisis. Laos and especially vietnam are best example of pure communist state that managed to hold against usa and capitalism and still be complete country that is not worse than any other asian neighbor country in statistics. Also im not liking my comments, you are under soviet nostalgia video of great times that you never seen and you pretend that you came here to say it was bad, but majority of comments under thousands of ussr videos says otherwise and confirms my opinion and experience. So i suggest either learn and read a lot about 60s-80s ussr and life in soviet states, before trying to discuss on topic that you have no knowledge or just propagandist view on. End of discission.

Soviet Dream Nostalgija, да - это время было для многих счастливым... Вот мы его и вспоминали всем Вильнюсом на форуме "В Вильнюсе", откуда, скорее всего, взялись фотографии (наша с девочками и еще две: с группой деток на скамейке в парке "Вингис" и с группой молодежи из еврейского самодеятельного ансамбля "Файерлех" на ступеньках Дворца профсоюзов) :) А Вы - большой молодец. Не каждый фотоклип набирает столько просмотров и перепостов. Вот только что глянула: на данный момент уже 1041 перепост и 51 тысяча просмотров. Общее число лайков подсчету, к сожалению, не поддается...

Marina Nalivaikiene меня это коробит и задевает мои чувства как человека любящего и знающего свой город. Судя по ответу автора, он осознанно, зная, что не на всех снимках Вильнюс, подписАл ролик как Вильнюс, введя в заблуждение тысячи людей, среди которых есть и те, кто никогда в Вильнюсе не был. Их то зачем обманывать? И ещё. Я лично никогда бы не взялся за что-то, понимая, что в этом ничего не понимаю. Вот такой каламбур. Но ты поймёшь. Вопрос, поймёт ли "составитель" этого фейк-ролика... p.s. Сейчас вдруг посмотрел, подпись под роликом он поменял. Но копии ролика с фейк-названием уже разошлись по просторам интернета. Вот в чём проблема...

Semion Bernshtein, я совершенно уверена в том, что молодой человек если и хотел задевать чувства - то "задевать за живое" ностальгией по временам юности. И у него это замечательно получилось, судя по невероятному успеху у народа :) . И он вовсе не стремился к тому, чтобы кого-то коробило. Ну давай простим молодому человеку мелкие огрехи, а? Ну мы все когда-то были начинающими, а не знающими и умудренными... Многое пришло лишь с возрастом...

Успех в чём? В перепостах ничего не подозревающего в обмане народа? Хорошо, не в - обмане. Скажем, в - ляпах составителя ролика, который не удосужился "почитать матчасть"...

В заголовке это не только Вильнюс, но и вся Литва.
