Would love a taeha vid on how to get into topre (mechanical differences between it and mx, lubing differences, vendors, what’s with buying a board so you can swap the body, etc.)

Love Norbauer's boards. I've got an RF87u with BKE Heavy v1's, DES dome gaskets #5, DES sliders, and DES silencing rings #5 in my Norbaforce Mk. III.

stock hhkb plate is integrated with the top housing, bezel and all

We just watched Ryan, the leading designer in the topre space, separate the ec coils from the pcb lmao Edit: I see why… but why won’t you be able to flip the plate/ top housing assembly onto the domes?

It makes more sense to do it the way Ryan does it since the domes/coils align naturally with the PCB. If you do it the other way you risk the domes not being aligned properly since it can slide around a bit

@@NostrTXB yeah for sure i get that, but personally i'd rather try to align the whole slider plate and dome/pcb assembly with multiple attempts than to lose a spring. to me at least, losing a spring and having no oem or aftermarket replacement option makes the former choice the preferred one. to be clear, neither are elegant solutions

Been loving your content lately man, I recently purchased yet another prebuilt keyboard, the GMK TKL to be exact, being that this is my first modular keyboard, i've really gotten more engaged in this community in general. I do plan on building my self something nice, but in the meantime, while i'm still learning, i would love to know if there is anything i can do to my current KEEB to help it sound more appealing. I d plan on at least clipping the stabs if not purchasing all out new ones, but i also plan on getting some lube and giving my first lube job a go. My keeb came pre-built with gateron browns. If you have a video covering some basic mods that can be done to common prebuilt keebs would love to give it a watch!!!!!

Nah, it's purposefully done to give the housing the look of a 1960s refrigerator, on the opposite, I own multiple norbauer products and it's the absolute best when it comes to quality, never had a single QC issue

if you’ve never seen norbauer products in person I would understand this, but this finish is honestly ridiculously hard to achieve and was pulled from the line of offered finishes because of the difficulty of qc. Definitely something that needs to be appreciated from that perspective
