Street Fighter the Storytelling game, a 1994 RPG by White Wolf, the maker of Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, and the rest of the World of Darkness. A fun RPG of punching people in the face as fast as you can.
Back in the day I was a hufe White Wolf fan. I even was a part of their official game demo team. That team was put on a group email list (would probably be a group chat or discord server these days) and I randomly asked if anyone knew where to get this game as it was already out of print by then. A guy from New Zealand sent me the core book and two supplements to me in Canada for free. It was a good game, but needed some better balancing. There is a fan "20th Anniversary" edition that tries to clean the game up and include newer Street Fighter characters. I'm not sure how successful the fan project is, but it would be fun to give it a go sometime.
I was lucky enough to grab it and all the sourcebooks in one store, but since I was picking it up for some friends, I also had to visit othe stores to complete their collections, since for some reason it was never available in the UK. It's an interesting game, and I think a lot of fun to play. But definitely not one to take seriously at all.
@@RPGGamer There are 3 IPs in the 90s I am shocked didn’t have a license TTRPG adaption In the 90s. Power Rangers, Mortal Kombat, and Goosebumps. If you want to count fan-made games. Pokémon has at least 3 unofficial TTRPGs with active communities. Including Pokémon 5E.
What I loved about this RPG was that you could make characters which really seemed as if they belonged in a Street Fighter tournament. I remember my first character was a Rat Man called Vermin, who could vomit acid, and he just seemed exactly right for one of the games.
Yeah, and the fact that it's by White Wolf Studios and kind of part of the World of Darkness makes it all the more fun, it's Vampire: The Masquerades wacky sibling.
