In this video, I show you how to create this retro stripped text effect. This form of design was often used for Sunsets but works equally well for text. To create the stripe effect I have used the rectangle tool and Inkscapes interpolate feature to create a series of rectangles that change width and colour in a series of steps.
To cut the letters from the striped design I have used the letters as a clipping mask. This process can be used to produce unique text from any design and is a versatile and handy trick to know.
