I usually struggle to justify paying for these sort of things, but what you have created here really made me feel as though these were worth purchasing. The customisation aspect is ideal too. Perfect for a project I'm working on right now - especially given my deadline!

Hey Alex, man that SUCKS! Without any more info here are a few ideas… 1. AE has been waaaay smoother lately. 2. Downgrade to an older version of Premiere (I’m using 2021) 3. In preferences make sure you reserve the maximum amount of RAM for premiere. 4. Close all other programs 5. Clean out your cache 6. Pre-render the titles on the timeline before export. 9. Keep me updated!

So sorry you've been having issues! Yes these titles will absolutely be a bit slower than you may be used to; especially in Premiere. Maybe not THAT slow, but a little bit of extra patience is required. I'd suggest trashing your cache in AE. Also make sure all of your other programs are closed when editing, and in Premiere preferences make sure you are allocating the maximum amount of memory. The different titles will have wildly different render times so if your machine is struggling avoid the 3D titles for now. When I render motion graphics I always plan to do it overnight or at the very least on a lunch break. It's hard to diagnose without knowing a little more but here's to hoping Adobe fixes their bugs and really hope these little ideas help speed it up a tad.

Hey Penny, So sorry I didn't see this message earlier. I see on your Coffee Grinds music video you ended up going with a different title: looks really great! Most of the titles have the toggle but a few of them don't for effect limitations; Lipstick Revenge might be one of them. It's usually on account of how the native glow works in AE which isn't nearly as good as Deep Glow. You can potentially luma key the background though which has worked well in some instances. Is there a rule of thumb for resizing if we want to use the mogrts for a vertical 16:9 video?

Depends on the MOGRT: some animate in from out of frame so be aware of that. And if you switch off the backgrounds you have a lot of flexibility. You can then either resize the whole thing to fit the width or you can of course just resize the text itself. I’ve used them vertical a bunch and I’ve seen some others do it too.

Hey sorry if I sound like a rookie but how would we be able to shorten the duration of an animation? Specifically I was trying to get a quicker animation from the "Thank You" comp.

Absolutely not a rookie question. Some of the comps you can simply drag the end back and forth and it will shorten the middle; it's a new little AE trick but its not applied to every title. For others you can either speed them up, or make edits (which I've done a bunch with that particular title). To make smother changes you'd need to open it in AE. It's definitely one of the longer animations in the pack (maybe the longest) but you can just cut most of the front; or potentially pick one of the 39 that are shorter. :p

This version of Nostalgia is for Premiere & After Effects. Really hoping to expand that to other programs in the future. You can of course still export the title from AE into Da Vinci if you can't find anything out there specifically for Da Vinci.

As far back as 2021 it will for sure. Any of the versions that have MOGRTs. I'd HIGHLY recommend 32GB of RAM and up though. I'm on 64GB and some of the exports take patience as Premiere is pretty slow for MOGRTs on current updates. The AE version (which is EXACTLY the same) is way faster.

I'm trying the VHS box mogrt, but I can only see a blueish/blank box. Both in After effects and in Premiere, I select the color combos, I change the titles, but I can only export the blank/blue box. Do you know what I am missing here? I forgot to activate somethning? thank you

It's me again - sorted it out and it maybe helpful for others: you need to have set the language of premiere and after effects to english for it to work. Since I'm german I didn't think of the possibilty that the expressions in english do not work when the programs are not set to english!

Wooooooow! Never even thought of that. Do you do AE expressions in German? I kinda assumed JavaScript was the same in any language that used the same letters but that actually makes sense.

@@GrantMFletcher as far as I'm aware expressions are still in english. but something breaks when you try to use them on a german version of premiere/after effects. This doesn't only effects the motion graphics itself, but also the render speed. I tried to render a simple title and it took nearly 30 minutes for maybe 3 seconds of footage. after I've set everything to english, the problems are gone. maybe there expressions are formated differently in german? idk, at this point I'm glad that I have found that solutions by accident :D

Hello, I purchased the Nostalgia 2 tool kit and Premiere is saying that the folder with the mogrts are in my folder but there is nothing in there when I open it in premiere. Any chance you could help me?

hmmmm... In not exactly sure what your issue is here. There is a folder where the stock adobe mogrts live that you could drag these mogrts into, or you can choose where you are importing new mogrts from. Hey I know you said you made these on a 2013 Macbook. I have a PC from 2021 running an AMD Ryzen 7 5000, Nvidia 3060 and 16GBs of RAM, but Premiere is struggling to handle these titles. Any ideas?

@@AlextheLue I emailed Matti, and his assistant I think replied, he asked Grant my same question on here and they basically said 16GBs was on the low end to handle these, and also premiere had compatibility issues. Are you using Final cut by any chance?

Not gonna lie; Premiere has been messing me around too! Which title are you having a problem with? There are definitely some of them that render faster, so maybe try to avoid the 3D ones for now until Adobe sorts itself out? AE does it WAY smoother so I even downgraded my version of Premiere and it helped a bit. But yeah it absolutely requires patience for some of them at the moment. Hope it gets quicker for ya. Tell me how you get on!

Sadly this doesn't seem to work at all for me.... I followed the tutorial exactly and whenever i try and pull anything on my timeline the screen is just black. On top of that I get endless font errors.
