We bought a retro / vintage Tandy Radio Shack Jeep Renegade from a second hand stall for 50 pence (£0.50). We were told that the remote did not work but we took it anyway. Watch the video and see if we get it going.
Searching online for the catalogue number 60-3089 revealed that the Jeep was released in 1984. I couldn't find any images of this red version, the ones I found online are all blue.

Had this in blue/gray loved it. Ran through a puddle of water and it crapped out!

My first RC car, Brilliant! Great for doing donuts on laminate flooring! Thanks for putting this on, brought back loads of memories.

Just noticed it should have a wire aerial on the Jeep, you'll get better range with it.

Hi thank you, really pleased it brought back fond memories, As for the aerial I did notice after putting this video up that a wire was missing, I have got some wire that I just need to solder on when I find time and I will put up another video of it when it's done.

Hi Adrian, thanks for the reply. I carried on with the RC cars and have around 40! The wife finds it amusing! Enjoy the jeep and hope the kids have years of fun! Lee

ducatikid58 wow 40 I was never lucky enough to get a RC car when younger so I intend on making up for it now, don’t think the wife would be happy if I got 40 though. :-)

Problem is the car is missing it’s aerial, it should have a thin wire antenna coming out just being the left rear wheel. I still have mine from the 80s (complete with aerial), not only does it still work perfectly but the range is actually huge!

I think he antenna wire has been pulled out on the truck end. That's why no range.

Yes, I believe that as well. It originally came out behind the left rear tire.

batteries are empty charge, thats the problem with the range, and tray to turn the tunning, several times tvs and radio fm interferes with it. Well I remember it. your have a troble with the changes 4x4
