RetroBeast 96TB Emulation Gaming Build By  

Damn with that massive database of games I’ll never leave the house. 😮

I now have the full 96 TB collection from KrisCoolMod that I'm adding to TWO systems I built from scratch; one is an all-white build with Asus ROG Maximus Z690 Formula motherboard + Intel i9 13900K + ROG Strix II 360 liquid cooler + 64 GB RAM @ 6000 MHz + Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080. The other is an all-black system with Asus ROG Crosshair X670E Hero motherboard + Ryzen 9 7950X3D + Ryujin III 360 ARGB liquid cooler + 96 GB RAM @ 6600 MHz + Asus ROG Matrix Platinum GeForce RTX 4090 (liquid cooled).

Just ordered my 96TB setup from KCM. Building a massive 75" super gaming arcade setup. This will make a good all in one solution. Thanks for the video!

It's a breakthrough! You can imagine how big the team is in order to put that together! It was a joy to watch and although I've recently watched this kinda thing on a recent premier video for fans to join in, this time I was glad of not having the distraction to fully immerse myself in the experience or would've been difficult to rapidly absorb. It's overwhelming that it literally has EVERYTHING in possible! Something for everyone!

I am very impressed by the number of systems. really at the top. Now I would like to see some rare and never before seen game shot. Example: on Naomi or on tecknop parrot, or Monkey 2. why not organize a live evening where you could play live to show us this in the coming days of October 2023

This is incredibly impressive. When you break it down, for what you get, the price is more than fair. I do have to say however that you would have to be one SERIOUS gamer, and not just a casual gamer to get your money's worth. I love gaming, but I couldn't possibly even begin to scratch the surface with the number of games available. I think the 4 TB build is what more people will be interested in, in my opinion.

This is the one for all to get I have this 96TB version it emulates all consoles and their libraries from the 1st generation to now amazing you can obviously do this yourself for cheaper but this build is phenomenal not a bad price for 600 bucks or so for just the hard drive if you buy the whole setup it’s like 5-10K the ps5 and Xbox x/s is not emulation it’s PC games released from those consoles there isn’t a ps5 or Xbox x/s emulation chip set yet unfortunately but someone will make it soon enough I’m shocked and blessed we even have ps4 switch xbox one for emulation already

I also played that original version of the Oregon trail on a old Macintosh computer that pretty much looked exactly the same as the example one used in the menu for that game system

I think the PS5 games are actually the PC versions, same for Xbox series X - might be worth looking into. Still looks good but I just can't see how you could use all of 96TB - some of it might be fake. I might be wrong but thats how it seems, still nice video, thanks

A cool preservation project, even if I don't agree with throwing PC games on there that can still be bought. I wonder what percentage of the games actually play without audio/video problems?

The xbox one and series, ps4-ps5 listed games play so well because they are the pc variants as long as you have the right hardware that meet the requirements

Seriously on my budget, I'll have to save up for this bad boy...if I won a million dollars, I know several awesome people I'd be surprise gifting these to, and still have plenty left over since those people number in the single digits at best.

Oh, I had two of those enclosures. I eventually replaced them with OWC enclosures (with Softraid)

Really good stuff. The PS4 ps5 Xbox 1x etc are the pc games of those systems is not actual emulation, so you will not have the exclusives that have not been released on pc

Honestly, the most impressive part of this is the older PC games. Those are a pain to get running and working, I wonder if they all actually work though. Everything else is a simple download. I built a 100TB+ so far, just a pain for the PC games.

Kriscoolmods RetroBat build/setup is using the files from christopher shaw and hyperspin team’s setup. This guy is taking credit for Chris’s hard work. It appears he added some pc games to Chris’s 48tb setup.

I need one of those ASAP 😊 The only thing is I would want more emulators so say pc with games like Dungeon Keeper, Command And Conquer, titan quest, the settlers etc 🙂 I would certainly pay good money for that

I still have my controller for the Star Wars reset the PC. I would love to get that thing hooked back up and play some Star Wars with you. I’m pretty sure I need some type of adapter of some sort to get to work. I have to retrofit the plug or something.

How is it even possible to emulate PS5 and Xbox Series yet? Hell, I thought the PS4 was the newest emulation and that it was still in its infancy at best lol. Mind blown by this build though... it looks awesome!!!

Don't forget to make a backup. High density 1.44MB floppies are the best.

Does it have optional cheats software included for all games (EG invincibility, infinite ammo, max stats, have all items & equipment)? Trophy achievement system with optional resetting? A timer for speedruns? Remote access software to play anywhere in the world? 24/7 tech support in case new games are released?

Can you also press Ctrl F to find a game or is it endless scrolling? Adjust the emulators to 4k resolution or scale/ stretch the image to fit to screen. Is this Launchbox they used? And can you also manually change the controllers?

96 TB is awesome but only if your using it for Xbox series X PS5 or PC on Steam on SSD which is very pricey I barely have enough storage on my PS5 to install anymore new games I’m looking forward getting more storage but in SSD not hard drive we use on PS4 xbox one all these years I had windows 10 I never knew why my PC would say you don’t have enough storage when my hard drive wasn’t full it had 4 TB available until the Xbox series X was announced they explained it needs SSD wow my SSD was only 250 gb never knew it was there

Looks amazing. But a lot of the text and background images look a bit rushed and compressed and could probably need some work.

I usually go for the warez option if available. But that doesn’t hurt major companies. This guy deserves every penny he asks for his work. It is so amazing and impressive what we are getting here that I would feel like shit if used his work for free. Please support the creator so in the future maybe we will have something like a mini 4tb version for the xbox series available

i bought the 4tb RetroBeast version.. but didnt realize it was on a 3.5 inch drive.. i was going to install it in a Ace Magician mini PC.. so i had to buy a 4tb 2.5 inch Samsung SSD to copy it on so it will fit in the mini PC.. that hurt a little.. in the pocketbook that is.. so going to sell the 3.5 inch Hard drive once i convert.. 4TB is going to take a while to copy.. but once its done im going to have one bad ass portable retro setup..

I would love to have ALL kind of movies into one HD....I'm sure it's out there...but I would like it all legally imported straight into the drive then make it public for sale...

Damn id take it just for the old school wrestling games. I miss the one from SNES 😢. I remember when WWE crush hour came out I thought it was rather corny and was probably a quick cash grab. But nonetheless an insane games library all around!

I havent finished the video yet so maybe you already answered, but my biggest issue with emulating has always been the fact that you need to go into some kind of settings and tweak shit to make the game work whether its button mappings or graphics settings or performance settings. Does something like this eliminate that? Obviously he cant go through and test 96TB of games but if at least 95% of the games just worked right out of the box, I'd 100% buy something like this no matter the price. I'd support a huge premium cost if it means shit just works right out of the box. I'm really tempted just for the sake of having a whole collection alrewdy there rather than building my own collection of games and sourcing from 100 different rom websites. I remember a decade ago I was really into jailbreaking iphones or rooting androids. My dad had tried rooting his android and putting cyanogen on it and he was always bitching about it to me because every day he had to troubleshoot some stock setting being turned off or some random application crashes. He said to me "this is fucking stupid I want something that just works I have no interest in spending hours every day trying to make shit work." At the time I was baffled because I enjoyed doing things like that. And its not like he paid anything for the ROM. But now that im older, I share the same sentiment. I have no interest in troubleshooting or configuring things 100 times a day just so I can spend an hour actually using it. I dont want to tweak shit for every single game I'd be playing on this thing, especially when I'm paying thousands for it. At 45:00 answered. Its not plug n play.

exclusives. FYI: For the Xbox one/PS4 and PS5 they are not emulated current systems, it's the PC version as most of the games are both PC and the system. It won't have any of the actual Console exsclusives. Xbox360 and PS3 are emulated.

I just bought a little 500gb Kinhank. I know alot of games can jam it, stutter, no sound etc. Apart from the system not finding the correct emu for some games could the crashing issue then be the cheap hdd's/usb cables being used? So I'm wondering... . These more expensive Tb drives. So the games crash less often? Or do they still face the same issues? Thanks for the video! Much appreciated!
