For those who want a further explanation to this piece: The Japanese title is 最も澄みわたる空と海, which includes the name 最澄(Saicho) and 空海(Kukai), which are 2 of the earliest Buddhist missionaries in Japan. (Yes, Kukai appeared as a rich Buddhist hipster in Bill Wurtz's "History of Japan.") The short story that goes along with this music is a song written by Kukai, which translates to "Even though my body will drop like flowers, my heart will fly like their scents."
A truly moving song by Zun. I feel like this song represents the end of a chapter or a story in our lifetime. But even though we're being forced to move on, we will forever carry the lessons learned and the memories gained throughout those bittersweet moments...to create something new for ourselves in this present.
i can agree, the picture looks an awful lot like where i used to live as a kid, i still cant get the view of the mediterranean sea from the hills and mountains of turkey with a city and a sea to spectate over
While I think the CtC version is perfectly fine, personally, I find this version to be far more powerful and emotional. I think it also stands out a lot among other ZUN compositions like many of his other awesome music CD themes like The Far Side of the Moon, Kid's Festival ~ Innocent Treasures and a few others.
@@Guacamole2408 I think he's referring to a very faint noise in the background that is largely overshadowed by the percussion. To hear it I had to turn my volume up to approximately double my normal listening volume.
@@Yama98989 Not as much as I used to. I made this comment when I was 14-15 and with the knowledge that in general people's favourite music are the ones they listened when they're around 15. Didn't really apply to me. I keep finding newer music that I like and got bored of the previous ones.
+Bravigaufre Well this could've probably been her real stage music if (Chang'e and) Yi weren't such an asshole, now come to think of it. This could've been the stage music instead if she hadn't come to be an embodied salt.... and certainly she could have her purely beautiful attacks.
I'll make this a BGM for anti-pollution campaigns! Just think of the title! It's so fitting for something against water pollution and air pollution! Also, feels.
feels like something is going to end whether it's a story, a journey, a fantasy we never know all that we know is that we're right here, right now, and that's more than enough...
Really, I can't really point out how, but the part from 1:50 to 2:03 sounds like something from Dark Chronicle/Dark Cloud 2. I can't really tell what I think it sounds like, but I get this Dark Chronicle feeling. I guess I'm just weird...
I only kinda understand what you mean. Yes CtC is overhyped af. But the track doesnt come from the game. Its an original ZUN music. Like every ctc music. Its all just a remix from og ZUNs
Unlike most of ZUN's songs, this song doesn't have a big climax. It changes instruments instead, which impacts listeners' emotions heavily. Sure, it is peaceful and tranquil but somehow I feel sad when it switches to the piano. Sadly, this song's peacefulness only exists in the video's realm and it will hardly make it into our reality.
