Yeah I've put 100+ into this one, my 10 year old daughter, probably twice that, multiple Dragonquest games in the works,I so hope there is another Builders game. :)
Clicked immediately when I saw this was about DQB2. Tiny Gods this game is so good. I double dipped to have it on Switch(first play-through) and a PS4 copy so I can get the platinum. I really hope they do a 3rd game. It’s just so good. I love seeing people gush about this game.
100% NEED a Dragon Quest Builders 3! We need to like start a petition and send it over to Square Enix, Koei Tecmo Games and Omega Force. Cross your fingers, Dragon Quest Day is May 27th, we may get some news! Although it may be a long while because Square Enix is going through a lot of big changes right now and that's why Dragons Quest Flames of Fate is behind/delayed :( And we need a Dragon Quest 10 online release in North America!!! But DQB3 is a must, would be dope if it has Sand Land style graphics, has better combat, more weapons and fighting styles and a ton more character customization. Other than that I'm just happy if we get a 3rd game.
I love this game and what surprised me is the game doesn't have slot machines. I would like to build a Casino, I can't because you can't make slot machines.
Thank you for discussing playing the game on the Playstation console. I've never owned a switch nor PC (being a Mac user) so it's wonderful to hear a review that mirrors my experience on the PS4. Loved playing Dragon Quest Builders 2 though never completed the entire game and am hoping to get back to it now. Found your observations very interesting, especially when you talked about doing better and being more prepared on a repeated gameplay. Excellent!
I played this when it was a free trial on Switch and I was HOOKED! I put like 80 hours in during that one week. I definitely want to buy it someday and do it all again!
I haven't played any of the Dragon Quest Builders games but now I want to after seeing your video, they look rather charming. Putting more than 100 hours into a game isn't out of the norm for me. Being a fan of the Megami Tensei series, I've put multiple hundreds of hours into games like SMT III: Nocturne, SMT IV, SMT V, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Reload.
I think the last game I passed 100 hours on was No Man's Sky, and that was in VR. Maybe it was Horizon Forbidden West after the DLC came out. I'm not sure.
Oh noooo... now you're tempting me. I think I might have to give into the temptation to get sucked back into this game once again. What an addiction...
I love how your cousin is now named "Consoler Cousin". I started this game a couple of years ago and put it away after a couple of days because I felt I was going to disappear in it and forget to feed myself or sleep. You make me want to get back to it.
I’ve never stopped playing this game. I originally bought it physically on Switch. But I would go back to play so often between other games or taking a break from a current game that I bought it digitally. I bought it again digitally when I got a PS4. I recently found a physical version for PS4.
How strange, I started replaying this a week ago also. As I've been looking up room recipes, I actually thought this video was an old one and didn't watch it until now. I'm hoping for a Builders 3 as well. Hopefully they're just waiting for the Switch 2 and haven't abandoned the series.
Replaying it too!! 😊 We need number 3. This game is so addicting. Hopefully if we get 3 they’ll at least use the orchestra versions of dragon quest music, the cheap midi is hurting my ears too 😅
Ohh I’ve been tempted to get this for awhile as I got dragon quest 1 on switch. However I think I got stuck at one point so I might replay it. After seeing what other players do with the builds makes me wanna try. As I really love Minecraft style building! If Ircha says it’s good I will buy!😂 I also want to get paper mario, Thousand Year door as the artstyle looks wonderful but am little hesitant on the battle system as I disliked it on the Paper Mario king one I think? Other game I want to get is Princess Peach as I never played her old games/couldn’t get hands on one. So many games to get ahh!! 😦
I do not like minecraft. I have never played a dragonquest game. so both these games put together?? I have no idea why I loved it so much! But this game helped me fall in love with my switch. DQB2 will always hold a special place in my gamer heart.
Man, they better make a 3rd. Im dying over here. I havent loved the newest games. They neednto bring back builders and expand it into something that is kind of endless playing. They could take on Minecraft.
What a great video 😍 Perfect timing since I will play DQB2 soon again 🩷 Your review back then brought me to buy the game and now it’s one of my all time favorites 💕
Easily my favorite game of 2019. I also played it twice, once on Switch and once on PC, both times clocking in over 100 hours and built a bunch of cool stuff in the hub zone. I also really loved the Moonbrooke zone the most because it really showed all the strengths of the game in that stage, and even managed to make its otherwise bland and simple combat fun. There's still a ton of ways the game could have been even better, like removing some of the limitations that prevented me from building the things I really wanted (especially that pesky height limit), and if they do draw from Dragon Quest 3 like how DQB1 and 2 were inspired by DQ1 and 2, a potential third game could be really amazing. I really want a DQB3 too, so much so that I made a video about it last year too lol. Sadly, it seems like Akira Toriyama passing away might put a hold on it, but we'll see...
Oh I also just saw a thumbnail of mine! I hope the video helped, at least a little bit :) and my fingers have been crossed for 4 years now for DQB3 🤞🏻🤞🏻 but if we hear something in the near future, then only after the Switch 2 is out (for performance reasons 😏)
Aside from building every room type, there is also a mechanic where you can build rooms to the liking of the major story NPCs. Also, if you ever want building design tips there are Japanese RU-vidrs who give great tutorials.
i really hope they make a 3rd one its by far my favourite console game i ever played i have put 420 hours into the switch version and 200 into the steam version and plus the replayability is better than i expected... Also yea 1000% agree whit the Fuck Skelkatraz nerver again do i want to see a prison segment
I haven't played this game much, I just barely have a few crops and a couple of basic rooms for the people to sleep. I had no idea there was so much to do in this game. I was over 100 hours in Odyssey but haven't played Origins yet but I did just recently get it on PlayStation, i know once I start it ill be hooked.
Cool. I purchased a Switch Oled the beginning of 2023. I loved Dragon Quest on my DS/ 3DS. I have 15 games now. I have looked at this game, but wasn't sure. It's sound like fun, I am going to try ut. 😏👍
Minecraft didnt click with me as that is more of a sandbox make your own fun thing and I'm not that creative tbh, but I played the JUMBO demo of Builders 2 and was hooked. I told my brother about it and he gifted me a copy for Switch. I liked that it is more focused and hand-holdy, speeds up and automates tedious aspects, mixes elements from The Sims, and I love how faithful everything looks to the aesthetic of the SNES version of Dragon Quest 2, all the references and connections it has... This is the first game I played where I got to engage famous DQ enemies in live action, and seeing them act out their classic attacks reminds me of when I first played Pokemon Snap.
i love your style of reviewing. came from a harvest moon review and i'm so happy to see a female reviewer playing what they love in a community of just guys covering new and hot titles instead of urging to return to stuff
I have 12,603 hours playing D&D on roll20 as the highest game being played. As a DM, I'm doing much the same thing as Builder, designing maps, setting the lighting, but also creating monsters, items, ect. For video games, I prob have 400 hours in Skyrim/FF8/FF6/FF10/Tactics each. Through each COD game I prob put in about 200 hours online, and League of Legends and last I remember I had 200 days of League of legends, playing from S1 through to S6.
I would like a third game as well. Or maybe a Final Fantasy Builders? I just want more this, I love it! I actually loved Khrum-bul-dun most, and hated Moonbrooke most. I don't know, the castle area was so restricted and I hated littering the ground with ugly traps I guess. For some improvements I would hope to get if there were ever to be a new builder game, please, let me make a menu or something what the villagers will cook...and make them stop just eating the raw ingredients. Maybe a way to target block right in front, instead of just targeting either up or down. Otherwise, yes, this is a great improvement in every way from first I agree. I especially love Malroth hanging around and helping collecting some stuff, and smashing the monsters so I can focus on more important stuff that is building. And those hearty high-fives, the best!
I happen to really LIKE Khrumbul-Dun. A whole gosh damned CHAPTER in the game purely to create the foundation for the multi-language pun of "Goldirox and the Three Bars". What's not to love? I will say, though, that Skelkatraz still sucks and so does Moonbrooke after it, though I'm not actually AS upset by Chapter Four... I just wish the Buggy Buggy were easier to control when on land.
DQ builders 2 was one of my first switch games, and probably the game with the most amount of hours played. But by the time I hit moonbroke, the framerate has gotten so bad that I just kinda stopped. I recently picked it up for my series X and it runs like butter. achievements are nice too. if they ever make a third one I hope I has cross play between all the supported platforms.
I love DQB2 and I think about going back to it all the time. I have PlayStation Plus and it's on there now so maybe I'll start a save there (I previously played on Switch). I was curious though, do you plan to play V Rising when it comes to PlayStation in June?
One of my favourite games, a one I will never uninstall. Hoping for DQB3! I got 100% achievements on Steam, the pet trophy isn't hard at all so don't worry. It's just a little time consuming but nothing major! I am similar I don't pre order most games but I will 100% day 1 buy DQB3! They have to be working on it, surely! Especially with the recent release of DQB1 on Steam, has to be a sign, right righttttttttt? lol
@@ircha From what I remember, the fastest way to get meat is on a stage where those Bunicorns are. You can also buy them using the hearts you get from villagers in the Builderpedia item list menu.
@@ircha Oh man I can't even remember but I went into it thinking "Oh God, here we go" but honestly it was fine. At that point in the game I was making my perfect base at end game in pretty much sandbox mode! I don't know how far you got in terms of that in the Switch version but you earn hearts and you can buy things with them so I probably just bought the meat I needed from there! If I recall now that I thought about it I think this nis definitely what I did! I still keep meaning to go back as I have not finished my massive project lol as I was creating a massive kingdom with an underground train track and sealife center too lol
In my honest opinion, animal crossing kinda sucks... The only good one was the one that released way back in the day for N64 at that time it was a mind blowing concept/game. But they milked the same game over and over and over...
Since even physical games have to be installed anyway, I guess the only thing that really holds me back from going all digital, is that my PS5 doesn't have 1 million gigabytes to store all the games I own. Because games 50gb and up take AGES to download... not that installing games is much faster. And not gonna lie, while I do cling to physical media still for the novelty of holding a piece of plastic in my hands and feeling actual ownership... every time I wanna play a game that requires me to move my body and change disk... I die a little inside.
Grinding meat huh? 😸 yeah I have it I only played the prologue part on the ship though I think this probably is a good game but square enix is so inconsistent even with dragon quest one of their main franchises
The final battle for DQ Builders 2 was too clunky and too long. I ended up just watching a video of the ending because i didn't feel like going through the whole battle. It was very poorly designed and disappointing. The game also was too long. Also, I think that the switch port is not excellent due to the slow down. I recommend playing it on playstation. But yeah, otherwise, I had fun with the game.
I’m not sure I believe in dragon quest anymore although I thought the dam dark Prince was pretty good at times I don’t believe in dragons anymore I guess I had king bubble slime if you’ve seen him before he looks like the cigarettes we both no longer smoke
@@MarkTheMagnificent ok, to clarify what I mean for folks, I’m saying I feel guilty because I could be using that time to improve my quality of life with the gym, finding more sources of income, and talking to women. That’s what I meant by “as a guy”
@@TrvisXXIII as a fellow guy, again, that's incredibly sad. Some late-stage-capitalist Andrew Tate drivel. Do those things because you want to. Not because you have to bE a mAn and feel shame for using your time in a way that makes you happy.
