Learn how to create an optimal profile for the Super NES on the RetroTINK-4K.
This tutorial pulls information from the RetroTINK-4K wiki. It is highly recommended that you visit the wiki to learn how to use the RT4K.

This tutorial is not for the Analogue Super NT, MiSTER or other consoles as these all have very different processes for optimizing Super NES video.
This tutorial goes over how to make 3 different types of profiles:
1) Automatic Sample Detection for games that switch horizontal resolutions often.
2) Manually optimize for games that output 512x224.
3) Manually optimize for games that output 256x224.

At first I was wondering why this video doesn't have more views, but I realize it's probably due to the limited supply of the RetroTINK 4K. This is to say, this video was very helpful. EDIT: Do you recommend that SCART cable you're using? I hear that it isn't fully shielded, and some people have reported strange audio feedback. Have you experienced this?

I'm not fully following how the RT4K would know to automatically change the resolutions.

At this point I don't know how it does it, but it's probably measuring sharpness for certain sample rate and decimation factors phases.

Are these different per tv? Or is there a profile you made that I can just use if I’m using retro gaming cables scart cable and 1 chip snes?

This should work on any 4ktv or the box. If you're playing on a 1080p television then first you hit the 1080p button on the remote and then follow the steps

You don't need to follow these steps, there are profiles that do this for you, but if you're playing on a display that isn't 4k you'll have to select a profile, hit the button on the remote that matches your display resolution, and then save that profile to keep the settings

Thank you! I'm also using scart, but it says N/A for Auto Dec. Factor. Would you happen to know why?

I think I figured it out. I was running 240p test suite on my GameCube, not SNES, so it was giving a 480p signal. As soon as I turned my SNES back on, the Auto. Dec. Factor is available.

@@jessecutts4868 glad you figured that out! The GameCube does also have 240p for two games and 480i as well, it wouldn't hurt to try for both of those either! But you don't need to do the automatic sample rate for GameCube, everything is a multiple of 858 for the sample rate, so the GameCube is similar to the Wii for analog.
