Greek cuisine is incredibly amazing. And for Turkish/Arab (jealous) people here, Greek Cuisine has 8000 years of history. The first cookbook in the world was written by Archestratus in 350 BC. Now suck on it.
@Ptolemy336VV
@Ptolemy336VV 9 лет назад
mshefik1 1). Wrong and with utter lack of intellect. - Turks come from Mongolia 1300AD. Eventually Turkic tribes history can be traced back to 2000BC in a small region of China. Turkish cuisine is no real cuisine for Turks lived originally in Mongolia. - Mongolia today has the poorest farmlands/soil in the world with the poorest cuisine. They always lived a very primitive life until they settled and stole the civilization and architecture that was left by the Greeks and Byzantine Greeks. - These regions such as Mongolia, where for a long time where Turkic tribes have been thriving, is one of the poorest farmlands in the world(you know, look it up!), where basically even today people eat 2 or 3 things everyday. Which is milk, sheep's broth and such. Nothing that can be compared to the regions such as Greece, Levant, India and such that where very rich in natural diversity and thus also in cuisine (and thus also very early high levels of civilization!) - Your Turkish tribes are nomadic people not even 500 years ago(and STILL are in present Mongolia and central Asia due to the same incredibly poor farmland problems), and they had to move from one spot to another to keep your primitive barbaric people from starving because of the poor farmlands in Central Asia and Mongolia. Like animals. This is also the reason why Turks and other nomadic tribes in these regions, never build any cities and have virtually no OWN history, just like other nomadic tribes around the world. 2). And thus your nonsense writing is absolutely utter bullshit. It means you Turks didn't teach Greeks nor others a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g. Absolute bull crap and with lack of intellect. As Greek civilization has been around far far longer and with far higher levels of civilization far before the incredibly primitive Turkic nomad tribes even came into existence! - While you lack history and your incredibly barbaric deeds never forgotten, there is by far no civilization on this planet that influenced the world more than Ancient Greece, the foundation that shakes this world to it's core today. From every science, to sports, to civilization to even the largest sports event the Olympic Games, to the oldest living Indo-European language in the world, that influenced all other languages that now cover 60% of the entire world. Even in English there are 53.000 words of Greek Origin. Greek language is also by Guinness Book of Records the richest language in the world with 5 million words. Up to the musical notation system that the entire world uses to the earliest cookbook in the world written by the Greek Archestratus in 350BC, Even Santa Clause is Greek. - And you are deluding yourself my retarded friend. Even up to your Mosques from shitty Ottoman architects in Istanbul are but extremely poor copies of Genius Greek Architecture like the Hagia Sophia. And Hagia Sophia was build 1000 years before Ottomans even existed! And is THE biggest Icon of Istanbul! (And even the name istanbul is Greek! -> Istin Poli = In to town!!!) and that is GREEK. Like virtually Entire Turkey, that is completely filled with Greek history. Hundreds of Ancient cities, temples, theaters, other archaeological sites are scattered throughout the lands. Greek history is virtually under every stone and has a far far bigger prominence, cultural, historical, architectural, linguistic impact than anything you nomadic Turkic barbarians ever produced or will produce! So don't say we add a thousand years here and there, while in reality YOUR history and where YOU came from is zero. The History of Greece, Cyprus and Anatolia(Turkey) is the history that exclusively belongs to the Greeks and some others, the original people who live in these lands, this does not go back 8000 years, but 12.000+ years back, and certainly not belongs to the Turks who barely even 550 years ago conquered Anatolia. And thus these 3 regions, culturally, historically, ethnically, archaeologically have absolutely, ZERO, nothing to do with you Turks. 3).The ingredients below originated in mainly the Mediterranean and Minor Asia and are native to this region, and more importantly are integral and part of Mediterranean cuisines since ancient times: -Olive oil, -fish (very hard in central Asia with no seas), -many of the herbs,nuts, -zucchini, spinach,wheat, barley, millet, pea, broad bean, lentil, flax, -sesame, chickpea, hemp, turnip, olives, pear, figs, and plums, -capers, Fennel, Catnip, Black mulberry, grapes, wine -Pomegranate -Herbs: Dill,oregano, Thyme, basil, sage, parsley etc (originated mostly in Greece and Italy) The funny thing is,that Turkish cuisine today uses EXACTLY these ingredient widely and extensively in their cuisine which does NOT grow in the steppes of Mongolia and China. Turkic people came very late to the Mediterranean region in 1100 AD.It means that Turkish Cuisine has had huge influences from the Mediterranean once Turkish Nomads came to the region, -Phyllo dough used for many Greek and Turkish pastries are invented by Greeks. And besides that is Phyllo the Greek word for leaf or paper. 3). Example: Some hating turks say: Tzaziki? it's Turkish, because of Cacik.
@Ptolemy336VV
@Ptolemy336VV 9 лет назад
mshefik1 Hahaha Turks are not from Hittites you incredibly DUMB uneducated loser. 1). TURKS COME FROM MONGOLIA, HITTITES FROM ANATOLIA, - ABSOLUTE 0% CONNECTION The Hittites, Lydians, Greeks are the original peoples of Anatolia that all spoke the Indo-European languages, not Turks. The Turkic languages are not even an Indo-European language because you people and your language does NOT come from this region, but from Mongolia.The Greek language is the oldest continuous living indo-european language recognized internationally in the world: www.humanjourney.us/images/indoEuropeanTree.gif Only the Greek language is still alive, and is the oldest continuous living language in the world. And there are no Turkic languages present.Instead of your redundant fantasizing bloating go read your real history instead of claiming others that you are not. Turks come from Mongolia. And even the countries like Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia today have Turkic speaking tribes. Must be hard for you to comprehend. 2). TURKS HAD MONGOLIAN FACIAL FEATURES NOT EVEN 400 YEARS AGO You don't know much about genetics nor population mixes. Turkish nomadic tribes who came in 1250-1400 to Anatolia, looked MongolianThere are many books with paintings from that time and they had split eyes. This is how Turkic nomads looked like (and even posted by fellow Turkish countrymen!): www.pinterest.com/pin/521502831820606600/ www.pinterest.com/pin/521502831822513865/ www.pinterest.com/pin/521502831822513870/ www.pinterest.com/pin/521502831822474800/ 3). TURKISH ORIGINS....! FAR AWAY FROM ANATOLIA Before we go further lets establish WHERE Turks came from.It sure was NOT Anatolia(Turkey). It is generally agreed that the first Turkic people lived in a region extending from Central Asia to Siberia with the majority of them living in China historically. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkic_peoples#O... "The Turkic language family is traditionally considered to be part of the proposed Altaic language family." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkic_peoples#O... "The first historical references to the Turks appear in Chinese records of about 2000 B.C. These records refer to tribes called the Hsiung-nu, an early form of the Western term Hun, who lived in an area bounded by the Altai Mountains, Lake Baikal, and the northern edge of the Gobi Desert and are believed to have been the ancestors of the Turks." www.allaboutturkey.com/origin.htm above site is by a Turk! 4). GREEK LANGUAGE THE RICHEST LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD (5 MILLION WORDS) // TURKISH LANGUAGE ONLY 104,481 WORDS And next to that. The Greek language is not only the oldest Indo European language in the world, but also the richest language in the world. with 5 million words, and 70 million including all the scientific terms, as the entire scientific, medical and astronomic world uses Greek as it's foundation. eurotalk.com/blog/2013/02/08/so-did-you-know-you-can-speak-greek/ hellasfrappe.blogspot.nl/2011/03/over-70000000-words-in-greek-language.html -The Greek language has been in use for at least 3600 years (written attestation) and is the longest continuous still living language in the world. "Greek has been spoken in the Balkan Peninsula since around the late 3rd millennium BC. The earliest written evidence is a Linear B clay tablet found in Messenia which dates to between 1450 and 1350 BC,[12] making Greek the world's oldest recorded living language." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_language While the Turkish language has only 104,481 words " The 2005 edition of Güncel Türkçe Sözlük, the official dictionary of the Turkish language published by Turkish Language Association, contains 104,481 words, of which about 86% are Turkish and 14% are of foreign origin.[1] Among the most significant foreign contributors to Turkish vocabulary are Arabic, French, Persian, Italian, English, and Greek." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_replaced_loanwords_in_Turkish 5). GREEK CUISINE MOTHER OF ALL MEDITERRANEAN CUISINES And all the ingredients that I named before, are NATIVE to Greece and Anatolia thousands of years back, and cannot be found in Mongolia/Kazakhstan. How can you make Tzaziki when you don't even have Dille, Olive oil, Lemon etc. HOW can you make Octopus(Greek word by the way) recipe, when you don't even have a sea in Mongolia and Kazachstan!!! The first cookbook in the word 350 BC was written by the Greek Archestratus. Greeks had access to all these ingredients that I named, and these are all part of the Greek cuisine for 6000+ years. Turks have ALMOST no history because of their nomadic lives. Nomadic means: people that need to keep looking for food in different places, if you like it or NOT! And thus they never had cities, because the Farmlands of Mongolia, Kazachstan were extremely poor. >> Have you ever wondered why there is so little known of your real history my Uneducated Turkish Friend?, now you know why, because nomad life = no history

From my experience greek restaurants are usually WAY above industry average. What sets them apart (I think) is that most of them invest some good time in finding the right suppliers that supply good quality raw produce. Many others, sadly often italian restaurants, just surrender to "whats there" or is the easiest and/or cheapest to come by. Of course, as always and everywhere, you dont get the real greek cuisine in a foreign country, but in 9 out of 10 greek restaurants the experience has been superbly enjoyable.

The thing which amazes me the most is the way Gordon hugs and kisses her right away, not doing it after she made the move. They both made the move for a hug. That shows respect and humility from a chef of his calibre to adapt to the culture of the kitchen he's in at that moment. Respect, Gordon.

There used to be a tiny Greek restaurant in Palmers Green. 3 tables, plastic table cloths, no menu, just what the husband and wife cooked that day. Simple authentic Greek food. White beans in tomato sauce, black eyed beans with greens, potatoes in the oven, rabbit stiffado, stuffed vine leaves ,loads of vegi dishes, and the salads. Wow that place was amazing. We ate like kings in that little place, fabulous people. Sadly long gone now.

Man Greek history is GREAT. From the 300 Spartans to Alexander the Great to when homer made the Iliad and the odyssey to Aristotle with astronomy and Greek philosophy, to Greek mythology and the Greek legends, to the Olympics and the marathon, and don’t forget the fact that they made like half of our vocabulary, and the delicious Greek food and olive oil, and how they kept their culture going through all of the dark ages and xio day followed up with 400 years of slavery, and the hundreds of Inventions they made like the light house... I think I only named less than half of what we accomplished. What would say more but I’m out of breath 😂. Now please if you still don’t think Greece is the best country to every thrive, name a better one 🤣🤣🤣

O and Turks You know what is the greatest thing? 1).Turks come from Mongolia 1300AD. Eventually Turkic tribes history can be traced back to 200 BCE in a small region of China. Turkish cuisine is no real cuisine for Turks lived originally in Mongolia. Mongolia today has the poorest farmlands/soil in the world with the poorest cuisine. 2).The ingredients below originated in mainly the Mediterranean and Minor Asia and are native to this region, and more importantly are integral and part of Mediterranean cuisines since ancient times: -Olive oil, -fish (very hard in central Asia with no seas), -many of the herbs,nuts, -zucchini, spinach,wheat, barley, millet, pea, broad bean, lentil, flax, -sesame, chickpea, hemp, turnip, olives, pear, figs, and plums, -capers, Fennel, Catnip, Black mulberry, grapes, wine -Pomegranate -Herbs: Dill,oregano, Thyme, basil, sage, parsley etc (originated mostly in Greece and Italy) The funny thing is,that Turkish cuisine today uses EXACTLY these ingredient widely and extensively in their cuisine which does NOT grow in the steppes of Mongolia and China.
@MrPanos2000
@MrPanos2000 10 лет назад
wrong, actually turks are huns from kazahstan!
@Ptolemy336VV
@Ptolemy336VV 10 лет назад
+MrPanos2000 -Wrong, the deepest traceable origin of Turkic tribes are from a small region in China 200 BC. -From there on they went to Mongolia where Turkic Tribes thrived for many centuries. -The Huns where nomadic people that where thriving from 100 AD - 700 AD That where then residing in Kazakhstan-Mongolia. -Eventually from Kazakhstan to eventually go to Anatolia 1400 AD, which is now called Turkey(Since 1900). They always lived a very primitive life until they settled and stole the civilization and architecture that was left by the Greeks and Byzantine Greeks. And as I said. These regions such as Mongolia, where for a long time Turkic tribes have been thriving, is one of the poorest farmlands in the world, where basically even today people eat 2 or 3 things everyday. Which is milk, sheep's broth and such. Regions such as Greece, Levant, India and such where very rich in natural diversity. As I have stated in my previous post, I've named a part of a list of ingredients that indigenous to the East Mediterranean.
@MrPanos2000
@MrPanos2000 10 лет назад
***** nevertheless we seem to agree that they stole our land and our civilization!
@Ptolemy336VV
@Ptolemy336VV 10 лет назад
MrPanos2000 Ofcourse. Isn't my point clear? My point is: 1).Basically the whole history, archaeological sites of Anatolia(Turkey) is Greek. 2).That Turks came 650 years ago, stole Greek lands. Turkic tribes came as one of the latest peoples to the Mediterranean. 3).This subject is about food. Some Turks and Arabs are jealous, for the fact that Greek Cuisine is the mother of all the Mediterranean cuisines spanning a history of over 8000 years. -Since Turks came 650 years ago, from one of the poorest farmlands in the world (Mongolia, Kazakhstan), without ANY of the Mediterranean ingredients that I stated in my first post. 4).It's the Greeks that influenced "Turkish" cuisine vastly and incredibly, as Greeks had a huge variety of ingredients for thousands of years. Greeks were even hired in Rome to teach them the art of baking bread and pizza. 5). Since Turks have absolutely nothing to say about Hellenic history in Turkey, due to that everyone on earth knows Greek history, it's architecture, influences, democracy, Olympic games, theater, laws, etc, the history of Greek food on the other hand is being mingled with by Turks. And some things that Turks "CLAIM" to be theirs, is actually not theirs. For example. Turks say Tzaziki is "Turkish", but in reality only the NAME (cacik) is Turkish. Tzaziki consists yoghurt, dille, olive oil and such. None of this including dille is available in Mongolia. Greeks have been making Feta and Tzaziki for many thousands of years. Turks are false liars. But again Greece has always it's history on it's side. It's unfortunate for Turks to be only for 650 years in the Mediterranean. A way too short time span for Turks to be able to falsely claim origins such as Tzaziki. 6). The first cookbook written on earth is from a Greek 350 BC. 7). Greek cuisine is world famous. Turks need to find something else to beat Greeks with. If it's not with Basketball, football, nor with food, history, beauty, music then with what else.
