Various locations.
Travelogue style film featuring the Austin A95 Westminster car. Made by the British Motor Corporation - B.M.P. Australian ex-serviceman revisits his old haunts including Devon and Cornwall.
Our hero visits a village shop where he used to billeted. He introduces "Mrs Jacobs" the shopkeeper to his wife and children. It is a nice old fashioned corner shop. "Bluey" takes his wife to a pub he used to frequent and they have a drink with the landlord. There are pictures behind the bar of the servicemen who used the pub during the war and of American aircraft. Bluey tries to find out what happened to the car he used to drive in England. He visits the garage where he sold the car in 1943 but the owner doesn't know where the car is now.
The family feed wild ponies on Dartmoor. They continue their road trip and drive through the countryside. When his wife Margaret gets a little chilly he turns up the car's heater. They visit Mevagissey, Polperro and Portloe.
There are shots of the family fishing in a lake, having a picnic, talking to fishermen, and watching a catch come in. Margaret decides to go for a drive and takes her daughter off to the seaside. Nice mother and daughter shots, father and son stay at the lake fishing. Implication is that the car "almost drives itself" so it is safe for Bluey to let his wife take it for a spin. Mother and daughter wink at each other when father tells a tall tale about "the one that got away."
They drive through the Devon countryside. Bluey tells us how fabulous the new Austin is for driving up hills and down dales. Salisbury Cathedral is seen. Mother takes a family photograph and they drive away. See other records.
See tape 2279 for reel 3.

The 'tories' were in power throughout most of the 1950s so how did they destroy 'life'?
