Return Of The Classic - Polish PAC PPS43c Pistol By Pioneer USA

Back in 2010, I.O. Inc. began importing a very interesting firearm. Named the PPS43c, it was a pistol manufactured in Radom, Poland by Pioneer Arms Corp (PAC) using original 1950s military PPS43 sub machineguns. PAC rebuilt these onto ATF approoved semi-auto receivers and pinned the folding stock in the closed position to allow the new firearm to be classified as a pistol. Unfortunately, nothing good seems to last, and I.O. stopped importation several years ago.
However in 2017, the PPS43c is back, and this time I.O. has nothing to do with it! Instead, Pioneer Arms USA is now handling import dueties. In this video, we look at one of these new pistols, and compare it with one of the original I.O.s. We test fire it and give a general overview, as well as take a little peek inside.

I love this ‘pistol’ - I’m glad I bought a couple years ago when they were under $300... the kits were plentiful too. I think around $60 for 4 magazines, pouch, bolt etc... another early Christmas present review!!!

Thanks much for watching. Yeah we've been having them come in at the store for a few weeks now...2 months maybe? They've been selling great and knock on wood, so far no complaints. So i think their new owners are happy with them. I know I've had to re-order at least 4 times already. Speaking of....AK pistols by PAK and imported by PAK-USA are supposed to be coming in this week. We'll do a video on those later I am sure, but it will have to be after the holidays. Obviously, we'll take a little break for Christmas to spend time with family.

Misha, I thought you were a russian mob boss the first few videos I watched of yours. I finally saw your intro video, so now I know your story. Just wanted to say I enjoy your stuff, good info and history. Ive been looking around for a couple of fun guns to go with my M57 7.62 x 25. Wanting to get my 9mm ar rebarreled to shoot the tokarev round. Wondering how the Endo mag and PSA 9mm bolt would work with 7.62? I also really like your long tom PPS with the stalk and barrel extension.

The original PPS 43 C comes with 35 round magazines. I see the 9mm version has 30 round magazines. Are the 9mm proprietary or modified from the original? Thanks for any input. Great video.

Enjoyed this video, What is the story about some of the Pioneer Arms PPS 43C's being shiny blued vs. others being (mat finish/military finished or parkerizied).

Mishaco, you mentioned that there is a 9mm version of this pistol, and I was wondering if those ever had any reliability issues that you may have heard of? I'm trying to see if I should get the 7.62 Tokarev version like this, or maybe wait for Pioneer to release the 9mm version again.
@ozarkbeararms8840

Honestly I don't know. They never interested me at all. 7.62x25 out of a 10" barrel is pretty impressive and lets this gun be unique. There are so many other guns in 9x19 and also parts kit to build them from, cheers.

Ive heard they have mag problems because a lot of people end up trying to use surplus mags instead of 9mm mags, but other than that I havent heard anything bad about them.

god damn!!! I really wish I could buy this gun. It does suck the folding stock is stuck and you unlock unless you SBR them.

What's the overall length on the PPS-43/52 carbine you have? It looks like its even longer than my 20" AR. Its gotta be getting close to 4 feet long.

On this conversation, it appears the new hammer has very little mass. I've heard many say, despite this, they are still reliable enough to be fun. I want one and just curious if you have two cents to add regarding the low mass hammer and potential light primer strikes.
@ozarkbeararms8840
@ozarkbeararms8840 6 лет назад
They seem to be fine. Remember, the early IO imports had issues with sslamfiring, so you don't want too heavy a hammer.
@MishacoOBA
@MishacoOBA 6 лет назад
+*TheVoxOfReason* Jay here. My IO import has about 400 rounds through it, of which, about 120 or so was old 50's surplus SMG ammo. No failures at all, no light primer strikes.

@itsKNR
@itsKNR 6 лет назад
I wonder what they cost? They shouldn't cost much. I think in Germany this would be a legal gun. Just 7.62x39 semi autos are banned. But 7.62x25 we can own here as sport shooting gun.

You can get an original spec, open-bolt firing example with a functioning stock for under $300 delivered in Poland. Unless you guys introduced the crappy no-milsurp EU law that we are sueing right now it should be legal in DE as well. There are plenty of companies in Poland that handle private firearms import paperwork, mostly in the other direction but the procedure is the same both ways. It takes about three weeks to get import docs done and processed when privately importing guns from DE to PL. Tramm & Hinners in Hamburg is a company that can help you with that.

I've always disliked the way the front of the receiver was attached, it doesn't look like an original with that big bulge. Why didn't they just weld it smooth? Cost? Or is the trunnion different?
@ozarkbeararms8840
@ozarkbeararms8840 6 лет назад
Trunnion is the original/same. That area is where the original front end with the shroud is attached to the new semii only receeiver. It is part of the conversion & ATF approoval.

There are big difficulties in importing 'rifles' thanks to the whole '89 ban thing. But once here in the USA, its pretty straight forward to make a PPS43c into a long rifle type.

The fact that this PPS-43 was made in Poland does NOT make it Polish. The PPS-43 is a RUSSIAN submachine gun, designed in Russia, by the Russians, for the Russians and later licensed to Poland. If somebody dances rock-n-roll in China it does not make rock-n-roll a Chinese dance. Just thought you should know that before you go public next time.
