Well people, I am extremely happy to present to you the return of the bass that started my multi-album run with Satanic Butt Slayer! Yuuuup, I'm talking about my original short scale Memphis precision style bass. This is the bass that I bought right after joining the band in order for myself and singer / guitar player SD1 to have matching instruments ala ZZ stop. I played it for about a year and recorded the first album with it. Then of course, I wanted a full scale bass so I hunted around until found the matching full scale bass. After I got the full scale, I didn't have much use for the shorty anymore, so I put it in a safe hard-shell case and forgot about it for ten years. And there it remained until last week when Davros asked me where the short scale Memphis was and insisted that I break it out. I couldn't have agreed more. So here it is, the return of the Memphis short scale bass. I used it for the first time in over ten years last week and it delivered way beyond my expectations. And for those of you who are wondering if these past couple of open mic appearances are in preparation of something big, all I can say at this time is please stay tuned.
