@@RookerVision A game that I would personally recommend you check out and do side-by-side on if you haven’t is super monkey ball/ Super monkey ball 2. Every version of the game is different in terms of detail resolution and draw distance. It would be really interesting to see how they are compare considering the original version is the gamecube
Unusually, the console ports have improvements over the origina PC game. GmanLives made a good video on it, here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--XWV3MLYuh0.html
In this particular video PS2 Xbox version looks somewhat comparable, but I have played both versions and I know how xbox and PS2 versions looks on real TV. -Xbox version has higher native resolution with progressive scan (ps2 is sub 640x480), so picture is clearly sharper on my tv. -Lightmaps arnt as compressed (whole lighting looks better overall), -better textures especially on character models and signs - new water effects - curved surfaces looks much better - game runs with higher fps (around 60fps most of the time). I have played RTCW on my PC at first, but xbox version was still very good considering xbox limitations (it even has additional levels). PC version required 256MB RAM + 64MB VRAM to run fine at max settings, while xbox only had 64MB in totall. Edit - here's PS2 gameplay ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y3NX9Erwvpo.html And xbox version gameplay ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t8c5yFpzUQ0.html On these gameplay videos I can see big difference in the first mission exactly as I remembered it. Different colors, lighting, square objects, worse textures and of course sharper picture overall.
one tiny thing 0:46 "ID Software, creators of the first Wolfenstein game..." the first Wolfenstein game was actually a little over a decade before Wolf3D, called Castle Wolfenstein, developed by Silas Warner and Muse Software for the Apple 2, it was the inspiration for IDs new FPS game a decade later. for those interested, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_Wolfenstein and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S1qD9JRk5vM.html ( where i learned about it myself) Though i dont fault you for making this mistake, as Wolf3D overshadows CW immensely
Some modders are porting the exclusive console maps/campaign to PC including the enemies like the robodogs that are not present on the PC versions, it's going to be added to RealRTCW sometime in the future. I can't wait! Edit: Also.. RealRTCW on Steam added the coop mod to play campaign with a buddy, good stuff.
1:41 Tides of War also doesn’t support Widescreen, it’s often mistaken due to the box art in the back saying it does, and the game stretches the screen when played on 360 via Backward Compatibility, COD Finest Hour also has the same related issue.
If i understand, this game engine went open source. If that's the case, how possible is it for a port to the other 6th generations consoles, the Dreamcast and the GameCube to have been done? And since this engine is open source, are there tools out there to allow the port to happen to said consoles? Thanks.
i just beat dmc 1 speaking of dmc do you plan on doing dmc 5 special edition when it comes out or rather in like half a year because not many people can buy 2 next gen consoles immediately
I commented on a previous video about small changes in each version loke color clothes the same characters are wearing. The same thing happens here with the guy laying down. Also the small change of the building with the door swapped with the window on ps2......its like whyyyy? Why did that need to change, I just don't understand.
It's so weird when you call Windows version PC, but Linux and Mac you don't call that. I mean, Mac, while being a PC as well, at least has its own hardware, but Linux is literally just an OS that you install on any regular PC.
@@RookerVision yeah, I just mean it's a bit weirder with Linux. Cause at least Mac is its own hardware. Linux is usually installed on the same machines as Windows.
Super Mario 64 was ported to pretty much everything PC,PS2, PS3, Xbox, PSP, PSVita, Dremcast, 3DS.... Make a comparison between all of it. There is no such thing on RU-vid
Why did you not mention the extra levels on the Xbox version? Its about the only reason to still play that version though. The lack of anisotropic filtering and poor texture filtering on the PC ports for the xbox kill most of them.
I've finished the ps2 version last month, and comparable to PC there's a few enhancements and level differences which you didn't mention on this video. Anyway, it's a long game, and even by great experience I got rage at some points for the difficulty.
Most of the ps2 comparison parts are taken from the cutscene ripped from pc (in pc was in game realtime video) especially in first part, but ps2 generally used better textures than xbox, pc is the best, then with venom mod and realrtcw.
@@RookerVision Yes yes I know you just played ps2 game not ripped from anywhere, I only saying that cutscene of escape level in the ps2 was the record of pc edition, all cutscene of ps2, except egypt, was taken from Rtcw on windows, so a true comparison of this part can't be done for ps2, at least until you take the commands of blaskowitz. Sorry for the late answer.
Xbox version I found the best as it has the wolfenstein 3d complete game within it and also not to mention it has cheats. PS2 version doesnt for some reason.
@@mcperfect9023 crash on sells numbers not on hardware and best graphics third-party all better on xbox 😂 this all makes me happy as a gamer ( keep sells numbers for u)
Love this game! been looking for which version to get for a while! Thank you for this! Had my eye on the Xbox version for a couple years will get it knowing all this now
