Thanks for the update. No one else in the media is reporting on this story anymore. This tragedy was mismanaged from the start and it looks like the aftermath is still being mismanaged. Waiting four months to finally see what's left of their home?! That's unacceptable! My heart goes out to the people of Lahaina.... They deserve far better than this!
They're hiding a lot of stuff from us/them... There is something seriously wrong with this whole scenario. I'm hearing a lot of crazy stuff... Conspiracy like stuff like lasers and satellites and it's just muddying the waters of truth...

That is all Trump gave us in the Paradise fire. It is the Hawaiian Government that is failing you. California had our lots cleaned in a few short months at no cost to us.
That money was just to get them through the first couple days. The survivors have had constant access to resources since then, IF they applied for any of it.

This is so damn ridiculous! This is the first time I've heard anything about the fires in Maui in months! MONTHS!!! Those poor people got screwed over really badly. My heart bleeds for them. I wish The damn government will just tell the truth of what happened and do SOMETHING to actually HELP these people!! AND, the missing kids... Where'd they go or what happened to them?? WTF! Tell these homeless Maui residents something positive. PLEASE 🙏🏻
How do you get help or retaliate from something that was planned by the very people that are supposed to help? Big important people wanted the land. Big important people destroyed what belonged to the people that wouldn't sell. Big important people think they can take what they can't purchase and never pay for their actions. I don't even see the White Hats coming to the rescue. This whole thing was insane, that a whole group of people could plan something so horrendous and get away with it, I never have seen the adults or parents of the missing 2,000 children. Were all the parents killed too? Were they threatened not to get in front of a camera? Too many questions and absolutely no answers.
You want the government to admit that they burned this town to the ground and you think they would help them? I'm sure the government would help them if they agreed to sell.
All kinds of things go wrong in disasters like this. I lost my home in Santa Barbara and we had all kinds of emergency evacuation plans and emergency preparedness trainings for the local responding authorities. When the wind started blowing 70 miles an hour and homes were burning left and right and propane tanks were Exploding everything went to shit! We even had homes that had won awards for their fire resistant design. They were all Burned flat to the ground.
So many homes lost that have been in family for generations. They refused to sell their property despite handsome offers over the years. They’ve lost everything. 🌺😢

The EPA has been working on the site since October. The Army Corp of Engineers is there now. Pay more attention to what locals are saying, instead of the conspiracy theorists.
The answers will come, but so many lawsuits pending are inhibiting any "transparency" on the part of officials. Also, there is no consensus on how Lahaina is to be rebuilt. Commercial interests want it back the way it was, while many native Hawaiians want low cost housing and cultural centers. They can't even agree on where to put the tons of ash created by the fire. It's going to take a long time to settle the disagreements and competing needs of the community's residents.
It took a year and a half for locals and government to agree what to do with the sailboat that was washed ashore in front of the Marriott.. once they got consensus it took half a day to clear the boat… I have no hope for seeing a rebuilt Lahaina town in my lifetime.
It's nobody's business how they rebuild it. If it is your property then you rebuild your house or business. Who cares what the government wants. It isn't public property.

Two comments… one, less than a week after my wife died I had realtors asking if I wanted to sell my house.. the reality is that there are vultures everywhere looking to exploit the vulnerable, be careful and have 2nd amendment friends to look out for you.. two, Maui County has 10 fire station total, only two in West Maui and typically only 65 firefighters on duty… totally inadequate.. who’s fault is that?
People have to approve the tax revenue, but ya Oprah, and Zuckerberg could have 20 of them built wherever needed, and not even dent their bank account.
This whole thing stinks. In fact it reeks. I'm wondering if the fire was started by predators and developers to force the native Hawaiians off their land?
Has anyone been allowed to investigate what is left there to see what caused this fire? It needs to be investigated. These beautiful people that have gone through hell, they deserve answers as to what caused this.
They have had investigations ongoing since October. The answers will probably be revealed in the lawsuit trials. Releasing information now, before the final conclusions would only add more fuel to the conspiracy theories.
It is really hard to investigate a government land grab. They aren't going to just give you information that proves what they did. They have to make it look like something else first and then they will give out information that leads people to believe that story.
That tall, dry grass up hill from the town was a disaster waiting to happen. Then came the wind which downed the power lines and the rest is physics and history. In California regulations would have required that field of dry grass be plowed under in the spring, when the ground is soft the the fire danger lower. I think it's that simple. Blame? Blame whoever opposed regulations to plow the grass under. Or you can sue the power company or god for the wind.
Maui county officials and the State are still thrying to figured out what to do next afetre the fire burnt whole Lahaina to the ground. Building department and all officials are nothing but burocracy, negligents, arrogants and Ignorants. They still are thinking what to do......Bisen should step down as Maui's Mayour ASAP!
