In this episode, we return to the Market Street Power Plant. Last time we were here, we only were inside for a few seconds before setting off an extremely loud alarm. You can watch that video here: • Set Off Loud Alarms at...
This time however, we found that the security situation was quite different, and we were able to make it inside and explore the entire plant!

The sirens at 7:07 reminded me of an old factory me and a friend explored two years ago. We heard sirens which stopped _really_ close to our location so we assumed it was police and booked it, only to realise about 300ft from the building that there was a hospital maybe a quarter mile away from us and the sirens were actually _ambulances._ We even passed the hospital on our way to the factory.

I realize this is completely out of nowhere, even off the wall, but when I saw those lights way up near the catwalks and platforms at 9:16, a question popped into my mind: "How the _hell_ did they ever change the bulbs in them!?" (I'm a model railroader working in O scale [1/4"=1'], building on an early 1900s brick railroad enginehouse and I'm going to install non-working industrial lights, similar to those, hanging from the collar beams of the roof trusses, so I'm curious.) Seeing the blades of exhaust fans, like those at 19:00, whirling in the breeze always amazes me; they must have wonderful bearings to be that free-moving after 50 years! I really like your videos, guys, so thanks for all you time and effort to bring us these documentations of history. Stay safe, always.

You guys seem to have a good bit of engineering knowledge when exploring places, at least compared to other urban explorers I've watched, which makes your videos way more interesting. Its nice to have someone with a general understanding of things to explain what you're looking at.

These seem to be nixie tubes displaying some numbers back in the days. You can vaguely see the number-shaped cathodes. The panel to the right had an LED replacement for that purpose.

I remember taking a few photos of this magnificent decaying power plant back in 2016, when I had New Orleans as a home port for the ship I was working on as a photographer back then. As far as I remember, it was the Carnival Inspiration. I was temped to get a closer look, but I, too, noticed the alarm system. I am glad I can see now how this historic powerplant looks like on the inside. You are doing an awesome job.
