I didn’t know Braun was ISP’s editor, well that is actually really cool for some reason, the guy screaming into the mic is isps editor, I love you even more isp/Braun
Hey ISP, quirky video you got there. Reminds me of the time I ran over a toddler in the McDonald's parking lot in 1996, just like how Germany ran over Luxembourg in 1940
Being originally from the whereabout of Luxembourg, Im surprised on how accurate ISP is in his description of the place. Surely you have been there before. Also, a quick survey from an anonymous source has shown that the most common name in Luxembourg is "Josy" (pronounced Jo-zee) .... probably Finally, only companies have low taxes in Luxembourg, normal people are taxed relatively high (as every country with a strong welfare do)
fun fact: Luxembourg actually repelled the first wave of german troops. They also liberated themselves using artillery pieces named for the children of the Grand Duke and a single volunteer division.
what? the only thing "held back" were the initial sabotage attempts by german spies, Luxembourg fell in less than six hours and the first units in Luxembourg were American divisions, not Luxembourg volunteers it was specifically liberated by the American 5th Armored Division which rolled into Luxembourg City Luxembourg Volunteers did hold back a small german probing attempt after Luxembourg was liberated tho
And did we just ignore the fact that there is a Czechslovakia in the end of the game that only have territories from czech? And under them there were an (another) slovakia?
The “they got ram over by Germany” put an image in my head of Hitler driving a First Generation Beetle running over Pierre Dupong and just smiling while doing it.
Fun fact: Luxembourg actually lasted longer than Denmark in WWII. Luxembourg capitulated after just under a day (23 hours) and Denmark did so in 6 hours (technically 2 hours, but it took 4 more hours for the news to reach all the Danish troops so they would lay down their arms)
Shit like this is why player lead peace conference is needed to do anything as a minor, you just aided the allies massively during d-day yet got fuck all war score.
I actually have something of an idea for a way for Luxemburg to be relevant. It's a bit silly, and probably not actually viable Basically, the idea is to make Super Heavy Tanks, with an eventual requirement of 5 divisions of them, but just one for defense for most of the war should be fine. Simply put, you focus your entire industry into these, with the eventual goal of making a one tile line through Liege and Leuven to reach Antwerp and just defend this line with nigh invulnerable tanks to provide a secure port for D-Day.
That end peace deal has to be the worst peace deal I’ve ever seen. Two Frances, that tiny strip of British Occitania, Anglo-French partitioned Netherlands, whatever the hell Pomerania is called now, Silesia, Czechoslovakia with only Moravia, Transylvania, independent Corsica, and Illyria with a series of tiny East Adriatic islands. What was the AI on?
It’s really refreshing watching ISP give worthless nations a genuine try rather than just LUXEMBOURG WORLD CONQUEST with mods/console commands/exploits
I can't believe there's not an option to go to Germany and say, "Hey Germany. We know you want to unite all the German peoples and all, but we're like... barely worth your time. Why don't we just become your little puppet state and you don't invade us? Okay?"
Little did we know, some Luxenbourgian HOI4 player created a mod (or will create one) called: What if Luxembourg sought to and succeeded in overthrowing the allies in an effort to reconquer their “Benelux” Republic; The Benelux Republic goes on to establish the Western-Communist bloc.
