I am waiting for my implants surgery to take place in December 2023. Information I have learned from this is very valuable information and it helps me to understand a little more about the healing process. However, the most important question was what happened during the first two week after the surgery was not answered. I wished the patient discussed what really happened during the first couple weeks followed the surgery. How did the feel? How to take care of the incision, bathe, etc…. But overall the information was valuable. I appreciated!

I also have to talk to a doctor in March to see if I can get a cochlear implant. Am single-sided deafness on my left side. I have lost 110 disables. The tinnitus I hear is so loud. Good luck on your implant.

@@timschannel910hi there . I hope you are doing well . Could you please tell how was your visit ? Did you get your CI ? My husband sufferes exactly like yours . Extreme tinnitus with 10 % heating left between both the ears . He is very very nervous? We still haven’t considered this implant but soon we might . My question is either this surgery would the extreme Tinnitus go away ?

Interesting comments and good advice from actual patients. I'm 67 yr old male, just made it through my 1st week after cochlear surgery. I did experience fairly extreme dizziness and vertigo for 4 or 5 days. I still have sharp pain (like an earache) in that ear. I hope that will clear soon. Dr did recommend Cawthorne head exercises. did seem to help w the vertigo. No fever, small amounts of fresh blood in saliva but not really an issue. I do get weak and tired quickly and have to rest frequently. Pain management, mainly tylenol. No heavy lifting or exercises either for me. I have been deaf in right ear for 35+ years and my good ear is fading so Cochlear implant was strongly suggested. Time will tell.
