This is so good. Thanks for sharing. I'd love to know more about the backing singers that worked with SAW.

Iv been a massive fan since there first hit. But unless you actually read the record labels and the small print on the back you wouldn't know about Phil. I loved the remixes and Phil did alot of them, which I played to death. It was what made the 80s great.

What I can't understand is why they never tried to write another "Say I'm Your Number One". The style and atmosphere of that song is magnificent, but they never wrote another one of that type.

Of course they did. The following three singles "After The Love Has Gone" (1985), "I'll Keep On Loving You" and "Tell Me Tomorrow" (1986) by Princess were in exactly the same style. Their two singles for the The Three Degrees "The Heaven I Need" 1985 and "This Is The House" 1986 also. The same goes for their singles for the group Brillant in 1986/1987. I think you need to know their stuff better 😉 They started their formulaic bubblegum pop only in 1987 after having started with HiEnergy in 1984 and went for more soulful Princess-like stuff in 1985.
