That whole situation sounds messed up. She was in an abusive relationship so they deported her with an open child welfare case? What? I’m not saying the outcome would have absolutely been different had she had more support, but on the face of it, it seems pretty tragic. Always more to the story and a baby being held at gunpoint is alarming to say the least, but sounds like mom needed as much help as the kids. If having your kids taken away is the only way to get help, your system needs help.

As a mom to 2 beautiful daughters that are both adopted I fully stand behind the children know that they are adopted and if it is something that each person involved wants to know one another. I fully realize that is isn’t always the best/right/safest thing to have happen But in the circumstances that it is a safe (physically and mentally) It is such an amazing and beautiful thing to have that bond be there. Not just between the adoptee but also between the biological mom and the adopter parent(s). I am so incredibly close with my youngest daughters bio mom. And we are one big crazy funky looking family tree that I wouldn’t change a single root, branch, twig, or leaf on this unique family tree!

And I think that went both ways because Hannah's bio mother wasn't ready for the kids to meet Hannah, probably just in case she was angry or unforgiving of her...which if she was, who could blame her. Krystal is absolutely being a Mama Bear for good reason. The last thing you want is for all the work you've put in to help your kids get to even some sort of stable feeling of love and care and security, to be shattered by someone who literally doesn't know them or what they've been through.

Crystals words were beautiful. Alot of children are left without a mom or dad because of deportation. All they want is a better life for them and their kids. Thats it.. ❣ im first Generation Mexican American. My grandparents walked for days and days along train tracks, eating the seeds inside grass. When they arrived, they slept in a park and ate from dumpsters while looking for work. They now live in a 5 bedroom home. My grandpa passed from covid RIP but he would tell me he never thought he'd be living in a home like that. Im thankful every day for my floor, roof. My AC. HOT WATER. I wouldn't be able to live this life i have if it wasn't for their sacrifices. Grateful every single day. Never judge.

This is such a sweet story. A lot of people don’t understand that our immigrant family worked harder than the average American to even get a house. Or to even have a place to stay because some immigrant families don’t have a permanent place to stay. I’m so grateful for my parents, for everything they went through to get me where I am. I’m so grateful for every immigrant family.

I feel for you. My parents are both Mexican, but I was born and raised in the United States. Something went wrong with their paperwork and legal status in the States in 2010, my mom and sister moved to Mexico in 2016, I moved to Mexico half a year later, and then my dad moved to Mexico half a year after that. We have all lived in Mexico (though occasionally in seperate houses due to financial problems) since then, but because I am an American citizen, I am able to move back to the United States and will be going to College in Minnesota this year. My parents, however, are under a 10-year ban that forbids them from asking permission to enter into the United States. The ban will likely start this year, but sometimes it takes even longer than 10 years for such cases to be resolved, and my parents might be banned from entering into the United States their whole lives. My parents won't be able to attend my graduation in the United States. My parents won't go to my wedding if I marry there. My parents will miss out on so much of my life and it breaks my heart. And all because of some words someone decided to write on paper and call law. As a Mexican-American, I feel for you, Hannah, I feel for your mom, and I feel for your family. Just like your mom doesn't know much about you and your past, there's probably so much of her that you don't know about. Get to know her, ask her, hear her, tell her your side of the story, open up. She loves you. I sense she suffered most days of her life thinking about you. Many Mexican American families go through things like this, and it never gets easier to hear another story. Thank you for wanting to learn Spanish. That will mean the world to your mom. If you ever become close enough to her, please hug her before she reaches out to hug you. Initiating contact speaks more than a million words. This video was heartwarming in many ways. I think your mom has been waiting for this moment since the day you were taken from her. I hope your bond with your mom grows stronger. And please look into your Mexican roots! I used to hate the idea of being of Mexican descent, but after spending almost 5 years here, I've come to love my background and all of its culture, food, music, and (especially) people! There is no culture like the Mexican culture. We are familia! People are so open and welcoming and hospitable. Here, weddings last at least half a day and parties go on till sunrise! (and we celebrate just about anything). We have this event we do at home with close friends and family (or whoever you want to get closer to) that we call "Cafe", and if someone invites you to a "Cafe", it means they will receive you in there home, sit you down with coffee and endless Mexican baked treats and goodies (the best in existence) to have a conversation filled with laughs, fun stories, deep discussions, tears, and much love for hours until the clock hits midnight and you realize you have to go to work the next day. Mexico is this and so much more! I bet your mom would love to tell you all about it. Tips to learn another language: *watch movies, shows, and read books. Make learning a language fun! The more you enjoy it, the more you will catch on to. *get someone to practice with. If you know someone fluent ask them to be your "language parent". A language parent doesn't speak to you like they would a baby or a child (ironically). They talk to you as if you already know the language, they correct you kindly when you mess up, and patiently teach you new things. This way, you learn quicker. *last but MOST IMPORTANTLY: think in the language. We think in the language we're most comfortable with. But start thinking in Spanish, and it will hardwire the language into your head. When you are in your room, think to yourself, "the room is big" and "my bed is comfy" in Spanish, or think, "the water is cold" while you're having a glass of water in the kitchen. Thinking in a language is the fastest way to pick it up. Anyway, I wish you the best blessings and pray that God guides you and your mom into a loving, stable relationship that I believe you both hope to have. You got this, Hannah. :)

This video is by far my favorite relating to birth family. As a Latin American the whole topic of deportation is so heartbreaking because so many of our people go through it and end up losing their families because of it. I am extremely happy that the love this woman had for her kids was great enough for her to fight to see them even a decade later💞Hannah you are extremely blessed not only for the incredible family that took you in and keeps giving you unconditional love, but also for being able to reconnect to a completely different part of yourself. There were so many little details about this story that are very prominent of our culture like the whole body language, the machismo and domestic violence, even the bathing in the sink is something many latina moms do😂 I really hope you learn Spanish so that you can continue to bond with your birth family!! When people ask me "do you want to meet your biological parents" I respond that I wouldn't mind, but it's not that deep as they are just that, strangers. You don't know who you don't know and I'm often asked if I miss a life/person I have never known, which kind of becomes a weird thing to respond to for someone who's every day reality doesn't involve thinking about being adopted. If anything, I think it shows Hannah has a healthy understanding about who is family to her. As an adoptee I feel like I often have to cater my answers to make the other people less uncomfortable about my adoption, when in reality, people could be more comforted that the questions don't make me uncomfortable when I respond with very real answers. But maybe now that her mom is not a stranger, Hannah's thoughts will change, who knows!

I've been crying the whole way through. Hannahs biological mum seems very genuine and clearly feeling broken by Hannah and her sister not being in her life. Ultimately I really hope that you can process this Hannah and and honestly you are such a brave girl and more importantly even when you needed care and to be reassured... you gave away love and reassurance instead. Hats off to you little one. Mama crystal raised you so well

You're entitled to your feelings being a mother your love for any of your children you've to be cautious. The last thing you want is Hannah or any other child to be hurt more. I think letting Hannah process her feelings is absolutely beautiful. It has to be difficult for both biological and adopted families to understand each other. You're a special person to be able to see past the why and start with healing. Hannah, you are so strong to push through your feelings and listen to her story which is your story. Love watching you guys.

This story is so eye opening. There are so many little Hannah's out there. So many children left without parents due to Deportation. Nobody is perfect, but losing your kids is really paying the ultimate price. I hope Hannah that you get to know your birth mom and you can both heal from all the pain you both have lived through. I also hope that you always hold Crystal in your heart as your mom because she is, she is so selfless and loves you so much that she's willing to walk through all of this with you. Not all adoptive parents will dig through the baggage and find closure and healing for their kids. She is a true gem in this story, you are very blessed to have her as your mom. I wanted to add that when you said your birth mom said you were a naughty baby ---it was likely lost in translation. She likely meant you were getting into everything and had a curious nature. I hope you learn Spanish, you'll see that not everything translates perfectly into English.

Hannah, what you said makes perfect sense- we take for granted hearing about the little moments, the pictures, the sentimental toys or blankets we’ve had from childhood. Just being able to know who you were, what you got into as a child adds chapters that were previously left blank in your book of life. So happy for you to now hold that knowledge. 💕

I've learned more about parenting with your videos than I have my entire life. When you grow up with parents that show conditional love you don't fully understand the damage that that causes to you and its hard to change for your own children. Seeing the unconditional love and support your show all your children through your videos these last few months ive been following has been eye opening and I'm slowly learning how to stop the cycle and give this unconditional love to my own children. Grateful forever that there are human beings as open and loving as you and your family ❤❤❤❤

I’m so happy that Hannah could get these answers, comfort and reassurance out of this meeting. I love this for Hannah. It seems like her mom went through so much and it just feels good to know as a viewer that her mom had no option. She did everything she could to keep Hannah and her sister but life just kept throwing her curveballs and eventually she was just too behind to catch them. It’s upsetting they deported her knowing she was trying to escape a abusive relationship and had a court date to get her children back but everything happens for a reason. I know she’ll be grateful for the opportunity she has now considering the sacrifices she had to make to even see Hannah again. This might be the most beautiful story out of them all.

I started watching the Crazy families because my nephew lost custody of his 3 children (4, 2 and 1 yr old). Without writing my family's entire story- I started researching the entire subject of foster care and adoption- which is how I discovered your videos. The Crazy families have taught me so much and gave me perspective into how things might be for my nephew's children. You guys sharing experiences like this helped me cope and deal with the loss of those children in my family. I've learned how to process it and be grateful to the family who adopted them. Love you guys! Big hugs to Haha.
