Hello my friends!!
A new video.. and a really special one too!
In my last video i found 3 stolen bags in the forest, while searching for WW2 relics.
There were still documents and other personal items in the bags, i managed to save the papers, and found a name.
After a lot of research online, i found an address.. and a telephone number.. it was time to call...
I hope you enjoy the video!! :)
Here's a link to the video where i found the bags:

My husband found a box of photos and photo albums in a house that was being torn down, he asked the men who were tearing it down, if he could look inside before they started and the let him go inside. We kept those photos and photo albums with us from home to new home to new home and then finally I told my husband that I was going to try one last time to find someone related to the photos.... I found the name of a girl on the back of one of those photos. I looked in the telephone book, this was before the internet. We had moved so many times to different towns and lo and behold I saw the exact name in the telephone book! I called her and sure enough, that house had belonged to an Aunt of hers! She had tiny photos that she owned and I had the full sized photos. 8x10's in the box! We gladly gave her the box! She wanted to give us money, but we could not accept, this was a mission of love! We held onto that box for over 20 years. So glad we found someone who was related to the original owner!

That can be sold at an insane amount btw. Somewhere between 300$ - 500$ or if you have the complete news paper it will be 4 or 5 times that amount. That is if its authentic... some of the titanic newspapers had fake news in it like saying there was no lives lost.

Was so nice to hear your Dutch, I lived in the Netherlands for several years. I am Australian and have a friend here in Australia who is a marine archaeologist. He did the survey on some Catalina flying boats, that were sunk in Broome Western Australia by Japanese Zero's during WW2. The planes were filled with Ex pat Dutch people fleeing from Indonesia during the war.. The zeros that attacked them here, went on to bomb pearl harbour a few weeks later. During this project he managed to find some toys that belonged to children who survived the attack, and was able to reunite them with their owners after all these years. He managed to have an exhibition in the Netherlands and was able to meet the original owners. Well done you, I hope you went back for coffee with stroopwaffles, They both remind me of rainy days in the Netherlands..... lecker 😋 What a wonderful thing you did 😊

He got his mother's scarf back, that must have been a little extra special. I know I'd be ecstatic if someone found and let me buy my grandmothers old accordion of them. Dad sold it when she passed, and it is really the only thing I remember about her. She didn't speak too much swedish, mainly German, so she would just play the accordion when I was sad or upset.

My grandparents were born and raised in the Netherlands, grandmother in Amsterdam, grandfather was Friese. They immigrated to America in 1906 when they were in their 20's. I loved listening to you both talking. It reminded me so much of my father's family. Even though they were in America they ran a Dutch store in Southern California and always spoke Dutch to their customers who were all Dutch immigrants as well.

The Dutch are hardy people. A nation of cyclists. I lived there for two years. You bike down the street and it is amazing how many Dutch ride bicycles. Women with children in the bike equivalent to a car seat, teenagers, adults, and the elderly.... all cycling along and it is 100% normal. Very good bike lanes for it and the traffic is used to it and has a lot of regard for cyclists, normally. Some are carting around groceries with them, other briefcases full of important papers... I've even seen people carrying things like lamps. Most impressive was watching the Dutch cycle in the rain while holding an umbrella like it was second nature. A lifetime of that keeps your body strong (and the cheese and milk and bier!). It was no wonder to me when that the old man said he was fine standing like that. After what I saw of how they cycle everywhere for a large part of their daily lives, young and old alike, you know that the older people in the Netherlands are probably stronger in body (and mind) than many people the same age in other parts of the Western world.
