I ordered these last year when my PCOS was acting up and I fell in love with them. Your description of them feeling like a pillow is spot on. I also find them to be very satisfying to clean because seeing all that blood rinse out makes me feel like I fought a great battle and is a great reminder of our strength.

Here in Halloween of 2021! I actually watched this video before I ordered reusable pads from Amazon and I bought the Teamony pads and I LOVE them! I wear pads ever day, not just during my cycle, to prevent leakage and bleaching of my undies. That happens a lot! I was producing SO SO much waste every day! I got tired of it and it was hard during the pandemic because I was afraid pads would not be available to me. I will never go back to disposable pads. Thank you so much for your video!

I use the teamoy panty liners cloth pads as my normal every day pads and I didn’t think I was on my period either! But when I went to rinse them, a loooott of blood came out. They work sooo well and also I don’t feel them! But a little advice: if you rinse them and don’t wash them the same day, they will smell really bad and create bacteria. I didn’t wash one of them for a day and a half and it smelled bad! But I absolutely love them and recommend them to anyone!❤️🥰

The bamboo ones have been working for me and saving the $bag. Use anti-bacterial liquid soap or moisturizing dial/Irish spring bar soap to wash for effective cleaning and protection for the material. Best to wash as soon as you take off. (Keep and extra with you at all times, wash the old one any restroom enough until you get home, put in the carry bag or ziplock bag). Air dry. Mine are a year old and still in excellent shape. Use cocoa butter Vaseline down their on your skin and thighs as a protectant barrier on your skin. Hope this helps. I agree - Comfortable, absorbent and not bulky so you can wear your skinny jeans and still look pretty.

@@LaRissaJ I love them! Very comfortable & inexpensive compared to a lot of other brands out there. Most of the reviews say to order a size up, so def check those out along with their charts before you order if you do! I ordered up & they fit great & are really absorbent, no smell, easy clean, very similar to reusable pads. I'd try em out at home if possible for the first day to check their absorbency for you. I trusted some reviews of people saying they had really heavy flows & it held up for them half the day, but I needed a lil extra support haha Do recommend though, very very comfortable, especially the high waisted ones!

I have so many brands now. I first bought some off of Amazon a couple of times. Then I bought some off of Etsy. They all use different materials. I think the cloth pads on Etsy probably have the best quality, but I will give an update on the Etsy ones. My period is starting in a few days! 😅 Can't wait to try them. lol. Also I use menstrual discs instead of menstrual cups. The discs are much easier to insert in, plus you don't get any suction that a cup might have.

So Google told me birth control pills can shorten your period. My entire life my period has lasted 6-7 days. Then I got on birth control and it stayed the same length. Later on I got off of birth control and it stayed the same length 6-7 days. Years later I am now I’m birth control again and I also started using more organic/natural cotton and chemical free pads and panty liners. My period length went from 6-7 days to about 4-3 days. So I’m pretty sure it’s the fact that I’m now using more natural period products that shortened my period and I hardly get bad cramps. All the mainstream period products have a lot of chemicals and bad things in them so I’ve been using the natural period brands like The Honey Pot, Rael, This is L ect... but a lot of times when I go to Target to get them they’re sold out of the ones I want so I’m going to try reusable ones.
@LaRissaJ
@LaRissaJ 3 года назад
I've noticed some organic brands being sold out in my area too. It's one of the things that led me to try reusable. Cloth pads give you the peace of mind in not having to worry about running out of pads & you don't have to worry about chemicals. Non toxic products are definitely way better for the body too! I hope you enjoy using cloth!

Hi! I'll be completely honest with you. I usually only need to change my cloth pad twice a day. I'll make sure I'm clean in the morning & put on a fresh pad. I use a bidet throughout the day to stay fresh. Then when I take my shower in the evening, I change my pad. So essentially, 2 heavy flow pads in a day on my heaviest day. One in the morning & change to a new one in the evening.

Have you ever used cloth pads? Do you have a favorite brand? If not, would you try them?
@QueensNative
@QueensNative 4 года назад
LaRissa J. I love your testimony! Cloth pads are everything... you articulated it best when you said you had a beautiful period. I can honestly say that since I have switched to cloth, my periods have been nothing short of positive and easy - in regard to managing them. I’ve been on cloth for over a year now and I started out like you (and like most people new to cloth) with a set purchased off of Amazon - more specifically “bamboo/charcoal fleece” topped pads with pul and a backing that lacked grip. That was enough, however, to make me a believer in alternatives to disposables. With time, research, and trials, I can confidently identify some of my favorites, as well as different preferences during different times of my cycle. UnpaperUnplastic is probably my favorite brand - sold on Etsy by the shop owner and seamstress, Tiffany. She offers wrap wing style surged pads that are thin and floppy. I like her bamboo velour or sherpa topped pads because they come in gorgeous tie die colors and they just feel amazing. LuniLove is another comparable pad brand, in terms of shape and quality top materials, created by the seamstress Jennifer. One of the ways she sells her pads is on Etsy, as well. When it comes to cotton or flannel topped pads that remind me of a classic maxi, I find comfort in Yurtcraft (an extremely popular brand within the cloth pad community). Lisa, the shop owner and seamstress, also sells her creations on Etsy. Lastly, when it comes to panty liners, I sew my own and I reach for them the most; I enjoy making them and playing around with different fabrics, shapes, and sizes. It really is a whole new world. Cloth has been a game and life changer for me and my only notable regret since switching is that I didn’t discover them until my mid thirties! Reusables offer solace and joy to what would otherwise be considered a burdensome monthly occurrence. I genuinely get excited when I see these types of videos and I believe the person making it is sharing their experience because they have discovered the same thing that I have... freedom and healthier options. This is no longer a “comment” and It has easily turned into a love letter about cloth pads! Lol. Anyway... :) I thank you for sharing your experience and I look forward to seeing your journey unfold, should you continue to share it!

Not that long ago we did a disposable pad and tampon drive at my church because some people who lived near us would stay home during their periods because they could not afford to buy pads. We did it and it was a success. Later on they asked for more. I've been wanting to tell the church to see about making some and teaching the girls how to make them too because then it would be less expensive and the girls won't have to be embarrassed to ask. For the girls they were so poor that they would stay home during their periods because they couldn't afford to buy pads. I've been wanting to tell my church this but I'm tooooo embarrassed to say something. What should I do?
@LaRissaJ
@LaRissaJ 6 месяцев назад
I love that your church did that! I also agree with you that cloth pads could be beneficial to the ladies as long as they have a way to wash them. I love that idea of teaching the girls how to make them! Or maybe people from the church can learn to make them and give them away. I think that it wouldn't hurt to make the suggestion. After all, if they accept the idea, your courage to offer an alternative could be a blessing to those ladies. Cloth pads do cost more than disposables INITIALLY but they end up being cheaper long term. Maybe if your church did go the cloth pads route, they could do a fundraiser or take donations for the cause. Either way, the worse they could say is no. It wouldn't hurt to offer a suggestion. I wouldn't be embarrassed because you are offering a solution to a problem. 💛 Pray and be led, Sis.

Hello!! Yes! I did do a video about the tea. It's called "Why Women Should Try This Tea" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZZPJ96NDkBE.html

How long do they typically last until you have to purchase a new set?
@LaRissaJ
@LaRissaJ 2 года назад
I've heard they can last 5 years minimum. Here is an article I wrote with all details if you're interested. www.larissaj.com/reusable-cloth-pads-benefits-of-using-cloth-pads/

Do they cause it do be hot/warmer down there ? It looks like a blanket

I haven't experienced this. I originally thought they would be hot. But I've worn them in the summer outside and still found them to be comfy. Now, of course, good hygiene, a little bird bath and changing the pad when needed are key too. With those practices, you're very likely to have a great experience as me & many others have. 😀

Those look really thin….I’d be so scared to sit for a long time and stand up….or sneeze 😩 I’d have to test at home alone the first time lol

Ah, don't let the appearance fool you! They absorb ALOT!! & if you have a heavier flow of just want complete confidence, I'd recommend the overnights. I haven't had issues sitting, standing or sneezing. I've gotten hours worth of wear with them each day. I highly recommend giving them a shot! Even if it's only a home test at first.

If you want extra protection/security then you can pair these with period panties. Bambody works for me : )

Hey do these work well if you have a really heavy flow/occasional clotting?
@LaRissaJ
@LaRissaJ 2 года назад
Great question! Yes, these absorb alot! This particular set comes with 3 pads in size large which are incredible! I love wearing the large size throughout the night and even on a heavy day when I want to feel secure.

Change them every 2 hours ??
@LaRissaJ

You could definitely go longer than that, depending on your flow. How often you change will vary by person.

Lol Can't argue with that! I've heard some Etsy brands are good! I haven't tried them yet, but that may be something to consider as an alternative option.
