Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock defeated Republican football star Herschel Walker on Tuesday in Georgia’s Senate runoff election, NBC News projects, handing President Joe Biden and his party a key win. Warnock’s victory will give Democrats an outright majority in the Senate after two years under a 50-50 divide. The Rev. Al Sharpton and Jen Psaki discuss the legislative impact this will have for Democrats.

Don't count them out, Either or both can still make trouble. And Democrats are not exactly known for party unity. Besides that, the Democratic Party is more of a coalition of factions, with the traditional Democrats being the largest faction. For more than a decade, the Republicans stood together as a bloc (yes, even during the Obama administration, they stood together to try to make sure Barack Obama did not succeed. They failed, but they tried!) If ever there was a time for the Democratic factions to stand together and work together as one, it was 2021-2022. But then we had Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema pursuing their own agenda - in complete opposition to Democratic Party goals.

The Republican's control the House. Manchin and Sinema no longer need to "block things". No policy is getting passed a Republican House. As for changing filibuster rules Manchin and Sinema still rule there. Because Democrats are one vote short to by-pass those two. As for Judges, well, they said it in the show - Democrats are nearing a record amount for a President's first two years in office. A 50-50 Senate clearly hasn't hampered that. Warnock being elected is virtually irrelevant to the big picture. Oh, I forgot. Democrats now have subpoena power. Great!
